An Innovative Approach towards Improving the Relationship Between Flow Zone Indicators with Lithofacies: A Case Study in Carbonate Oil Field, Middle East

SPE Reservoir Characterisation and Simulation Conference and Exhibition, 2017
Abstract F field is located in the Middle East and was discovered in 1980's. The bulk of the proven liquid hydrocarbons are contained in the B formation (carbonate), which averages some 200m in thickness in the study area. The hydrocarbons are contained in a low relief NW-SE trending anticlinal structure.

Machine Learning-Assisted Petrophysical Rock Type Classification and Permeability Estimation with Flow Zone Indicators

International Petroleum Technology Conference
Abstract The main objective of this study is to derive petrophysical characteristics and predict petrophysical rock types (PRT) from a well log from the Volve Field Dataset, using unsupervised and supervised machine learning algorithms. We utilized available core data of the reservoir with an unsupervised K-means algorithm and supervised

Mitochondrial DNA Variation Indicates Gene Flow across a Zone of Known Secondary Contact between Two Subspecies of the Brown-Headed Cowbird

The Condor, 1991
pecked to access egg contents. Instead, breakage may facilitate grasping and removal of the egg, or simply render the egg inviable. Consumption of egg contents demands time, and the benefits of leaving immediately may outweigh the nutritional gains.

Carbonate cements indicate channeled fluid flow along a zone of vertical faults at the deformation front of the Cascadia accretionary wedge (northwest U.S. coast)

Geology, 1993
To understand the relation between fluid seeps and structures, sedimentary rocks were collected with the DSRV Alvin from a vertical fault zone that transects the deformation front of the Cascadia accretionary wedge. The rocks contained diagenetic carbonate cement that was precipitated from fluids expelled during accretion.

Hydrodynamic Implications of Aquifer Quality Index (AQI) and Flow Zone Indicator (FZI) in groundwater abstraction: a case study of coastal hydro-lithofacies in South-eastern Nigeria

Journal of Coastal Conservation, 2017
We integrated the surface geologically constrained 1-D geoelectric attributes and laboratory analysis of water and hydrogeological cored samples collected from the wells in the coastal area to estimate the effective porosity, permeability and their relations with aquifer quality index (AQI), flow zone indicator (FZI) and normalised porosity index, the ...
