Flowability and storage stability of highly active powder surfactant systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Surfactant powder is a highly valuable product with many applications. It was felt desirable to enhance the physical stability of the powder so that it could be transported over long distances and to ensure its quality at end-use applications.

Influence of Moisture Content and Composition of Agricultural Waste with Hard Coal Mixtures on Mechanical and Rheological Properties

open access: yesAgriEngineering, 2023
Utilization of agricultural waste can be done by converting it with conventional fuels to energy. For this purpose, it is necessary to understand the properties of waste and its mixture with the fossil fuels important for its storage and conversion.

Enteropathogenic E. coli shows delayed attachment and host response in human jejunum organoid‐derived monolayers compared to HeLa cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Flowability of ceramic bulk materials. Pt.2: Interaction of primary particle properties and flowability

open access: yes, 2022
S.E35-E38Flowability is an integral parameter summarizing a no. of primary particle properties. The anal. of these complex interactions requires statistical methods for the proper design of expts. Expts.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

Characteristics of metal powder flowability and the effects of flowability on the qualities of parts made by powder bed fusion [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
Metallien lisäävän valmistuksen yleisin menetelmä on sulattaa metallijauhetta kerros kerrokselta. Prosessissa jauhetta levitetään sulatusalustalle mahdollisimman ohut ja tasainen kerros hyvän tulosteen laadun saavuttamiseksi.

The human gut microbiome across the life course

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Despite significant individual variation and continuous change throughout life, the human gut microbiome follows some life stage‐specific trends. This article provides a brief overview of how gut microbiome composition shifts across different phases of life. Created in BioRender. Özkurt, E. (2026) https://BioRender.com/8q4nrnc.
