Natural variation in FLOWERING LOCUS C and FLOWERING LOCUS M underlies the weak temperature sensitivity of the Arabidopsis accession Ellershausen

open access: yesCurrent Plant Biology
Natural variants of key floral regulator genes underly the adaptation of plant populations to diverse environmental conditions. We identified Ellershausen (El-0) as an early flowering Arabidopsis (Arabidopsis thaliana) accession with decreased ...

Local chromatin environment of a Polycomb target gene instructs its own epigenetic inheritance

open access: yeseLife, 2015
Inheritance of gene expression states is fundamental for cells to ‘remember’ past events, such as environmental or developmental cues. The conserved Polycomb Repressive Complex 2 (PRC2) maintains epigenetic repression of many genes in animals and plants ...

Self‐Regulated Learning Meets AI: Reinterpreting Self‐Regulation, Co‐Regulation, and Socially Shared Regulation in Human–AI Interaction

open access: yesNew Directions for Adult and Continuing Education, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Advancing artificial intelligence (AI) has transformed learning and work, yet higher education and professional development programs have not systematically equipped learners for AI‐prevalent environments. This lack of preparation creates uncertainty regarding control, responsibility, trust, and accountability.

Exploring PIF4's contribution to early flowering in plants under daily variable temperature and its tissue‐specific flowering gene network

open access: yesPlant Direct, 2021
Molecular mechanisms of how constant temperatures affect flowering time have been largely characterized in the model plant Arabidopsis thaliana; however, the effect of natural daily variable temperature outside laboratories is only partly explored ...

Unraveling 4‐Phenylbutyrate's Therapeutic Role in SLC6A1 Disorders: Pharmacochaperoning Over HDAC Inhibition

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Variants in SLC6A1, encoding the GABA transporter 1 (GAT‐1), cause epilepsy, autism spectrum disorder, and developmental delay via loss of GABA uptake, impaired trafficking, and ER retention. We previously found that 4‐Phenylbutyrate (PBA), an FDA‐approved drug, restores GABA uptake and reduces seizures in SLC6A1‐related disorders ...

Biomass Native Structure Into Functional Carbon‐Based Catalysts for Fenton‐Like Reactions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study indicates that eight biomasses with 2D flaky and 1D acicular structures influence surface O types, morphology, defects, N doping, sp2 C, and Co nanoparticles loading in three series of carbon, N‐doped carbon, and cobalt/graphitic carbon. This work identifies how these structural factors impact catalytic pathways, enhancing selective electron

Fusogenic RNA Nanomodules for Fusion‐Mediated and Multiplexed siRNA Delivery

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A fusogenic lipid‐layered RNA nanomodules (L‐CRAMs) enable high‐capacity and long‐lasting siRNA delivery through membrane fusion. These nanomodules carry exceptionally large siRNA payloads, avoid conventional endosomal uptake, and release multiple functional siRNAs through Dicer‐mediated processing.

Arabidopsis U2AF65 Regulates Flowering Time and the Growth of Pollen Tubes

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2019
During pre-mRNA splicing, U2 small nuclear ribonucleoprotein auxiliary factor 65 (U2AF65) interacts with U2AF35 and splicing factor 1 (SF1), allowing for the recognition of the 3′-splice site by the ternary complex.

Natural variation in autumn expression is the major adaptive determinant distinguishing Arabidopsis FLC haplotypes

open access: yeseLife, 2020
In Arabidopsis thaliana, winter is registered during vernalization through the temperature-dependent repression and epigenetic silencing of floral repressor FLOWERING LOCUS C (FLC).
