Influence of TiC and TiN Ceramic Reinforcements on the Microstructure, Thermal Expansion Behavior, and Tensile Properties of Invar 36 Manufactured by Laser Powder Bed Fusion

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study examines Invar composites reinforced with titanium carbide (TiC) and titanium nitride (TiN) using laser powder bed fusion (LPBF). It presents the influence of reinforcements on microstructure, tensile properties, and thermal expansion. Results show that TiC effectively strengthens Invar while maintaining low thermal expansion, whereas TiN ...

Functional genomics of photoperiodic bulb initiation in onion (Allium cepa) [PDF]

open access: yes
Bulb initiation is a process which is photoperiodically driven, drawing parallels with flowering. Photoperiodic flowering is well characterised at molecular and genetic levels and occurs when photoreceptors interact with the circadian clock, regulating ...

Cadmium induces early flowering in Arabidopsis

open access: yes, 2012
We found that cadmium promoted flowering in Arabidopsis and suppressed nitric oxide accumulation in leaves. Supplementation with NO donor SNP delayed flowering, whereas application of NO scavenger cPTIO further promoted the transition from vegetative to ...

Role of BraSWEET12 in Regulating Flowering through Sucrose Transport in Flowering Chinese Cabbage

open access: yesHorticulturae
We assessed the flowering Chinese cabbage (Brassica rapa var. parachinensis), a specialty vegetable found in southern China. The sugar content of the stem tip is closely related to bolting and flowering.

Fusogenic RNA Nanomodules for Fusion‐Mediated and Multiplexed siRNA Delivery

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A fusogenic lipid‐layered RNA nanomodules (L‐CRAMs) enable high‐capacity and long‐lasting siRNA delivery through membrane fusion. These nanomodules carry exceptionally large siRNA payloads, avoid conventional endosomal uptake, and release multiple functional siRNAs through Dicer‐mediated processing.

Functional Characterization of a Putative Glycine max ELF4 in Transgenic Arabidopsis and Its Role during Flowering Control

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2017
Flowering is an important trait in major crops like soybean due to its direct relation to grain production. The circadian clock mediates the perception of seasonal changes in day length and temperature to modulate flowering time. The circadian clock gene

In vitro flowering red miniature rose

open access: yes, 2013
Using aseptic plantlets obtained from stem node explants of hybrid red miniature rose (Rosa hybrida cv. Fairy Dance), the effects of shoot physiological status, medium ingredients, and culture thermoperiod on in vitro flowering were evaluated.

The evolution of flower size and flowering behaviour in plants: The role of pollination and pre-dispersal seed predation

open access: yes, 2008
This thesis describes research into the effects of insect mediated pollination, and pre-dispersal seed predation, in common species of Asteraceae, varying both between and throughout growing seasons, and suggests that these exert selective pressures ...

Photoperiod, light intensity, and vernalization regulate flowering in the novel fragrant Chrysanthemum ‘Xiaokuixiang’

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science
Accurate regulation of the flowering period is crucial for year-round production of Chrysanthemum. This study was conducted in an artificial climate chamber to systematically investigate the effects of light intensity, photoperiod, and vernalization on ...
