Cloning, Expression and Functional Study of OfCOR27 Gene in Osmanthus fragrans

open access: yesPlants
Blooming time is an important basis for constructing plant landscapes. The short flowering period of Osmanthus fragrans, recognized as one of the ten traditional flowers in China, considerably constrains the further utilization of its resources.

Discerning protein pools by selective staining with self‐labeling tags

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cell surface proteins have an intra‐ and extracellular pool. Combining genetic fusion to self‐labeling tags that can be addressed with small molecule fluorophores allows separating these pools. We highlight recent developments and techniques for state‐of‐the‐art interrogation of cell surface proteins in the complex tissue setting.

Environmental regulation of flowering [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
The timing of flower initiation is a highly plastic developmental process. To achieve reproductive success, plants must select the most favourable season to initiate reproductive development; this in turn requires continuous monitoring of environmental ...

Vernalization, Photoperiod, and Gibberellin Coordinately Regulate Flower Bud Differentiation in Oenothera biennis L.

open access: yesPlants
Oenothera biennis L. is an economically important oil and ornamental crop. However, the regulatory mechanisms underlying its flower bud differentiation remain poorly understood.

The microbiome in human skin aging

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐related skin changes encompass the well‐known visible phenotypic alterations, together with microbiome dysbiosis and a series of molecular aging hallmarks. These hallmarks characterize not only a fully stablished aged phenotype but also the skin aging process itself.

Altered regulation of flowering expands growth ranges and maximizes yields in major crops

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2023
Flowering time influences reproductive success in plants and has a significant impact on yield in grain crops. Flowering time is regulated by a variety of environmental factors, with daylength often playing an important role.

Autophagy and mitophagy in pancreatic β‐cell homeostasis and their involvement in diabetes pathophysiology

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This review focuses on the role of autophagy and mitophagy in maintaining pancreatic β‐cell function and homeostasis. We discuss how genetic defects affecting these pathways contribute to the development of type 1, type 2, monogenic, and gestational diabetes. We further explore their potential as therapeutic targets. Created in BioRender.

The antagonistic regulation of

open access: yesIndustrial Crops and Products
Flowering is a fundamental developmental process that determines reproductive success and environmental adaptation in plants; however, the molecular basis of flowering time regulation, particularly in perennial species, remains incompletely understood ...

Golgi enzymes are retrieved from the plasma membrane to the trans‐Golgi network

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Golgi enzymes are traditionally considered resident proteins retained within the Golgi apparatus. Here, we demonstrate that a subset transiently reaches the cell surface and is subsequently retrieved to the trans‐Golgi network via retrograde transport. Using a nanobody‐based toolkit, we uncover a dynamic trafficking cycle of several Golgi enzymes.
