Fully Bio‐Based Gelatin Organohydrogels via Enzymatic Crosslinking for Sustainable Soft Strain and Temperature Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Enzymatically crosslinked gelatin‐based organohydrogels, fabricated through a fully bio‐based and scalable process, exhibit exceptional strain and temperature sensing capabilities with minimal interference from environmental humidity. These transparent, stretchable, and ionically conductive materials operate without synthetic fillers or dopants.

Heptageniidae (Ephemeroptera) of Wisconsin [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
(excerpt) Heptageniidae are one of the most abundant and widespread components of Wisconsin\u27s aquatic insect fauna. In almost any stream with a firm substrate and free of gross pollution, the flattened nymphs can be found hiding in crevasses and under

Shape‐Morphing Nanoengineered Hydrogel Ribbons as Hemostats

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces a self‐assembling, shape‐morphing nanoengineered hydrogel ribbon system that rapidly forms porous aggregates in situ for efficient hemostasis in trauma and surgical applications. Abstract Rapid and effective hemorrhage control remains a major challenge in trauma and surgical care, particularly for complex or noncompressible wounds.

Adsorption of 3-chloroaniline on potato skin in aqueous solution [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The adsorption behaviour of aromatic amine 3-chloroaniline (3-CA) from aqueous solution on fresh potato skin was investigated. A series of batch experiments were conducted under different experimental conditions of contact time, 3-chloroaniline ...

Microneedle‐Based Biofertilizer Delivery Improves Plant Growth Through Microbiome Engineering

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This figure shows how microneedles are used to deliver biofertilizers to enhance plant growth through microbial migration, metabolic reprogramming, and changes in plant endogenous microbiome. Abstract This study presents a microneedle‐based system for the delivery of rhizospheric biofertilizers into plant tissues to enhance growth.

Efficient transformation of the isolated microspores of Chinese cabbage (Brassica rapa L. ssp. pekinensis) by particle bombardment

open access: yesPlant Methods
Background The low efficiency of genetic transformation in Chinese cabbage (Brassica rapa L. ssp. pekinensis) is the key problem affecting functional verification. Particle bombardment is a widely used method along with the Agrobacterium-mediated method.

De novo transcriptome analysis of Sinapis alba in revealing the glucosinolate and phytochelatin pathways

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2016
Sinapis alba is an important condiment crop and can also be used as a phytoremediation plant. Though it has important economic and agronomic values, sequence data and the genetic tools are still rare in this plant.
