Arrays of dual-sensor and four-sensor needle conductance probes have been used to measure the mean and time dependent local properties of upward inclined, bubbly oil-in-water flows (also known as dispersed oil-in-water flows) in a 153mm diameter pipe ...

Ubiquitination of secretory granules promotes their crinophagic degradation in Drosophila
Ubiquitination of secretory granules in Drosophila larval salivary glands is a critical molecular trigger for crinophagy, the lysosomal degradation of unreleased, or low‐quality granules. The E3 ubiquitin ligase Cnot4 is recruited to the surface of secretory granules to induce crinophagy.

Numerical simulations of unsteady complex geometry flows [PDF]
Numerical simulations have been here carried out for turbulent flows in geometries relevant to electronic systems. These include plane and ribbed channels and a central processor unit (CPU).

The numerical simulation of thin film flow over heterogeneous substrates [PDF]
Considerable progress in the understanding of thin film flow over surfaces has been achieved thanks to lubrication theory which enables the governing Navier-Stokes equations to be reduced to a more tractable form, namely a coupled set of partial ...

Using time–distance helioseismic measurements of meridional flow in the near-surface shear layer over a period of 14 yr starting from 2010 May, we probe the depth structure and evolution of its cross-equatorial part.

Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Improving estimates of migration flows to Eurostat [PDF]
In this paper we identify the current mandatory requirements and issues concerning the supply of detailed migration data to Eurostat. Using simple illustrations on immigration to the United Kingdom, we show how substantial and significant improvements ...

Reconstruction of Core‐Surface Flows During the Last 3,300 Years
Understanding the Earth's magnetic field evolution requires examining the fluid flow at the core‐mantle boundary that drives the changes over different timescales.

Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.
