The benefits of flue gas recirculation in waste incineration

open access: yesWaste Management, 2007
Flue gas recirculation in the incinerator combustion chamber is an operative technique that offers substantial benefits in managing waste incineration. The advantages that can be obtained are both economic and environmental and are determined by the low flow rate of fumes actually emitted if compared to the flue gas released when recirculation is not ...

Co2 Capture for the Silicon Process-Effects of Flue Gas Recirculation [PDF]

open access: yesSSRN Electronic Journal, 2021
Flue gas recirculation has been proposed as a potential process improvement for the silicon and ferrosilicon process. In this paper, flue gas flows and concentration from a 100 MW silicon production operation has been calculated for 0, 25, 50, 62.5 and 75 % flue gas recirculation.

Flue gas recirculation in a gas-fired laboratory furnace: Measurements and modelling

Fuel, 1997
This paper presents an experimental and numerical study of the effect of flue gas recirculation (FGR) on flame characteristics and pollutant emissions. The experimental study was performed in a small-scale laboratory furnace fired by a gas swirl burner of industrial type.

Flue gas recirculation in iron ore sintering process

Ironmaking and Steelmaking, 2016
Flue gas recirculation has been introduced into iron ore sintering process to reduce pollutant emissions. Compared with the conventional process, the sintering indices reduce gradually with decreasing O2 content in the recirculating gas. With sufficient O2, the principle on the use of flue gas recirculation is proposed.

Flue Gas Recirculation during Biomass Combustion: Implications on PM Release

open access: yesEnergy & Fuels, 2020
The need for low-emission technologies in biomass domestic heating systems has encouraged the development of primary methods to improve the combustion process. Air-injection strategies are known to yield successful results regarding gaseous emissions; however, their implication on PM release still has some unknowns.

Effect of H2O(g) Content in Circulating Flue Gas on Iron Ore Sintering with Flue Gas Recirculation

Journal of Iron and Steel Research International, 2015
The influence of H2O (g) content in circulating flue gas on sintering was studied by simulating the flue gas circulating sintering. The results show that the burning speed of solid fuel and the heat transfer rate during sintering process are improved when the H2O (g) content increases from 0 to 6%, which accelerates the sintering speed.

Investigation on Flame Characteristics′ Variation by Flue Gas Recirculation and Fuel Injection Recirculation

Transactions of the Korean Society of Mechanical Engineers B, 2004
Investigation on Flue Gas Recirculation(FGR) flame and Fuel Injection Recirculation(FIR) flame was performed with numerical method. Quantitative Reaction Path Diagram(QRPD) is utilized to compare the different chemistry effects between FGR flame and FIR flame.
