Cell Systems, 2023
Large language models have emerged as a new compass for navigating the complex landscapes of protein engineering. This issue of Cell Systems features ProGen2 and IgLM-two protein language models (PLMs) that use subtly different approaches to design proteins.

PILOTING FLUENT. A CONTEMPORARY COURSE PLAN BASED ON THE FLUENT-MODEL
EDULEARN ProceedingsHigher education is undergoing a profound transformation, driven by the rapid advancement of digital technologies and the evolving expectations of students and university administrations. While the underlying drivers of these changes are diverse, they converge in a common goal: to promote student learning within an increasingly complex educational ...

This report documents the ability of a man to reverse the order of segments within words, so quickly that the simultaneous translation of forward speech into reversed speech was possible. Transcriptions of recorded backward speech and several processing tasks were used to clarify this man's profile of unusual linguistic skills. Analyses of the backward

Fluent aphasia is a language disorder that follows brain damage, causing difficulty in finding the correct words and structuring sentences. Speakers also experience problems in understanding language, severely impairing their ability to communicate. In this informative study Susan Edwards provides a detailed description of fluent aphasia, by drawing ...

Topics in Stroke Rehabilitation, 1995
The origin of the term fluent aphasia is reviewed as well as the characteristics and syndromes of patients presenting with this type of aphasia. Three strategies are presented for describing the impairments and disabilities associated with fluent aphasia: (a) syndrome-based, (b) model-driven, and (c) functionally oriented.

Fluent Speakers – Fluent Interactions
2009One of the interesting features of many English as a Lingua Franca (ELF) interactions is the extent of their perceived fluency, i.e. the degree to which listeners consider them to be instances of ‘smooth’ language performance. This contribution addresses the questions of whether fluency can become a meaningful descriptor for ELF, and if so, whether and

A Fluent User Defined Function (UDF) to extract and save portions of a time-accurate simulation is presented. This UDF, called the Fluent VTK Extractor (FVE) makes use of the Visualization Toolkit (VTK) library to manipulate unstructured grid data and perform file IO. The FVE UDF is applied to three unsteady flow problems. Data storage reductions of up
