Fluid–solid coupling dynamic model for oscillatory growth of multicellular lumens

Journal of Biomechanics, 2022
The development of multicellular lumens involves the interplay of cell proliferation, oscillation, and fluid transport. In this paper, a fluid-solid coupling dynamic model is proposed to investigate the physical mechanisms underlying the oscillatory growth of lumens.

Fluid-Solid Coupled Heat Transfer Investigation of Wet Clutches

SAE Technical Paper Series, 2017
<div class="section abstract"><div class="htmlview paragraph">The prediction of temperature distribution and variation of oil-cooled sliding disk pair is essential for the design of wet clutches and brakes in a vehicle transmission system. A two-phase coupled heat transfer model is established in the study and some fluid-solid coupled heat ...

Validation of a Coupled Fluid/Solid Heat Transfer Method

Volume 5: Heat Transfer, Parts A and B, 2011
A coupled method for solid/fluid steady heat transfer calculations is presented. The results of the fully coupled and uncoupled simulations are compared with the experimental data obtained for the front and rear stator well of a turbine. Several cooling mass flow rates have been considered.

Free Vibrations of Fluid–Solid Structures With Strong Coupling

ASME 2010 Pressure Vessels and Piping Conference: Volume 4, 2010
Free vibrations of fluid-solid structures are governed by unsymmetric eigenvalue problems. A common approach which works fine for weakly coupled systems is to project the problem to a space spanned by modes of the uncoupled system. For strongly coupled systems however the approximation properties are not satisfactory.

Research on lubrication mechanism with fluid–solid coupling of port plate pair in swash plate axial piston pump

Proceedings of the Institution of mechanical engineers. Part J, journal of engineering tribology, 2020
When a swash plate axial piston pump operates under high-pressure conditions, the valve plate will undergo warping deformation. Based on the theory of elastic fluid dynamic lubrication, this work establishes a fluid–solid coupling model of a swash plate ...

Fluid-solid coupling analysis of safety of waterproof gate

2011 Second International Conference on Mechanic Automation and Control Engineering, 2011
A FLAC-3D fluid-solid numerical simulation was performed to analyze the stability and anti-water ability of the waterproof gate. Analysis indicates that under water pressure 10.3MPa, the structure of underground chamber of waterproof gate and surrounding rock mass are under plastic state partially, but are basically stable and usable.

Hybrid Modelling of Coupled Pore Fluid-solid Deformation Problems

Pure and Applied Geophysics, 2000
A hybrid formulation for coupled pore fluid-solid deformation problems is proposed. The scheme is a hybrid in the sense that we use a vertex centered finite volume formulation for the analysis of the pore fluid and a particle method for the solid in our model. The pore fluid formally occupies the same space as the solid particles.
