Analysis of Mass Transfer and Fluid Flow for Electrochemical Processes
2005Numerical analyses of fluid flow and mass transfer in electrochemical systems will become more common. It may be difficult, however, to utilize currently available commercial solvers for mass transfer, especially when concentration fields are coupled through an electrical field or through homogeneous chemical reactions.

Modeling of Heat Transfer and Fluid Flow in the Laser Multilayered Cladding Process
Metallurgical and Materials Transactions B, 2010The current work examines the heat-and-mass transfer process in the laser multilayered cladding of H13 tool steel powder by numerical modeling and experimental validation. A multiphase transient model is developed to investigate the evolution of the temperature field and flow velocity of the liquid phase in the molten pool.

Experimental visualization of heat transfer and fluid flow processes in a thermoacoustic device
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1994Different visualization techniques are used to gain insight into the heat transfer and fluid flow processes in a thermoacoustic refrigerator model. For this purpose, an enlarged model of a thermoacoustic device, with transparent viewing windows in regions of interest, was built.

Ironmaking & Steelmaking, 1999
AbstractThe electroslag remelting (ESR) process has been used effectively to produce large ingots of high quality based on the controlled solidification and chemical refining that can be achieved. Despite the widespread application of industrial facilities, there are still issues that prevent an effective control of the process.

Fluid flow and heat transfer in continuous casting processes
2010A three-dimensional finite difference code was developed to simulate fluid flow and heat transfer phenomena in continuous casting processes. The mathematical model describes steady state transport phenomena in a three dimensional solution domain that involves: turbulent fluid flow, natural and forced convection, conduction, release of latent heat at ...

Coupled Process Models of Fluid Flow and Heat Transfer in Hydrothermal Systems in Three Dimensions
Surveys in Geophysics, 2009Geothermal fields and hydrothermal mineral deposits are manifestations of the interaction between heat transfer and fluid flow in the Earth’s crust. Understanding the factors that drive fluid flow is essential for managing geothermal energy production and for understanding the genesis of hydrothermal mineral systems.
