Effect of Surface Morphological Changes on Flow Over a Sphere [PDF]
An experimental investigation was undertaken to examine the effect of a morphing surface on the flow over a sphere in the Reynolds number range of 5x10⁴ to 5x10⁵. Here, a morphing surface is defined as a continuous surface that undergoes small amplitude

This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

We numerically investigate the dynamics of thin disks falling under gravity in a viscous fluid medium at rest at infinity. Varying independently the density and thickness of the disk reveals the influence of the disk aspect ratio which, contrary to ...

Downhole vortex drainage gas recovery is a new gas production technology. So far, however, the forces and motions of liquid phase in the swirling flow field of wellbores during its field application have not been figured out. In this paper, the forces of

Fluid and particle coarsening of drag force for discrete-parcel approach
Fine-grid Euler–Lagrange simulations of gas-fluidization of uniformly sized particles have been performed in three-dimensional periodic domains. Snapshots obtained from these simulations have been systematically coarse-grained to extract filter size ...

Lattice Boltzmann phase-field modeling of thermocapillary flows in a confined microchannel [PDF]
To understand how thermocapillary forces manipulate the droplet motion in a confined microchannel, a lattice Boltzmann phase-field model is developed to simulate immiscible thermocapillary flows with consideration of fluid–surface interactions.

Mass spectrometry based identification of AMP‐O‐Tris generated by Thermococcus onnurineus Cas10
Isolated Thermococcus onnurineus Cas10 generates the noncanonical ATP‐derived product AMP‐O‐Tris while in Tris‐containing buffer as identified via mass spectrometry, revealing relaxed nucleophile selectivity under isolated conditions. These findings suggest that multiprotein Csm complex assembly restricts Cas10 reactivity toward canonical cyclic ...
