Transformations in Flow Characteristics and Fluid Force Reduction with Respect to the Vegetation Type and Its Installation Position Downstream of an Embankment [PDF]
Compound mitigation systems, integrations of natural and engineering structures against the high inundating current from tsunamis or storm surges, have garnered significant interest among researchers, especially following the Tohoku earthquake and ...

Subgrid Model of Fluid Force Acting on Buildings for Three-Dimensional Flood Inundation Simulations
In recent years, large-scale heavy rainfall disasters have occurred frequently in several parts of the world. Therefore, a quantitative approach to understanding how buildings are damaged during floods is necessary to develop appropriate flood-resistant ...

Serve Ball Trajectory Characteristics of Different Volleyballs and Their Causes
Volleyball is a sport that starts with a serve, so effective service is essential to win the game. The trajectory of the ball is complicatedly affected by the fluid force, which depends on the speed, spin speed, and panel shape.

Lift force in odd compressible fluids [PDF]
We compute the response matrix for a tracer particle in a compressible fluid with odd viscosity living on a two-dimensional surface. Unlike the incompressible case, we find that an odd compressible fluid can produce an odd lift force on a tracer particle.

Serve Ball Trajectory Characteristics of Different Volleyballs and Their Causes
A floater serve in volleyball is a technique of serving a non-rotating or low-rotating ball, which is difficult to return because the flight path of the ball changes irregularly.

The present study aims to systematically investigate the effects of a high Reynolds number on the flow-induced motion and energy conversion of the Cir-T-Att oscillator. Experiments are conducted in six Reynolds number ranges (2.89 × 104~6.51 × 104 < Re <

Weighted integral methods for fluid force diagnostics in incompressible flows [PDF]
Whilst surface-stress integration remains the standard approach for fluid force evaluation, control-volume integral methods provide deeper physical insights through functional relationships between the flow field and the resultant force. In this work, by

Study of Effect of Convergence Section Geometric on the Performance of a Sonic Nozzle [PDF]
Critical flow Venturi nozzles (toroidal, cylindrical, convergent–divergent, or C–D) nozzles) have discharge coefficients predicted through numerical and experimental investigations.
