The contribution of executive functions to creativity in children: What is the role of crystallized and fluid intelligence?

open access: yesThinking Skills and Creativity, 2018
Recent studies have revealed that intelligence and executive functions (EFs) play an important role in creative thinking. However, most research has focused on adult populations, without providing enough clarity as regards the way this complex ...

All‐in‐One Analog AI Hardware: On‐Chip Training and Inference with Conductive‐Metal‐Oxide/HfOx ReRAM Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An all‐in‐one analog AI accelerator is presented, enabling on‐chip training, weight retention, and long‐term inference acceleration. It leverages a BEOL‐integrated CMO/HfOx ReRAM array with low‐voltage operation (<1.5 V), multi‐bit capability over 32 states, low programming noise (10 nS), and near‐ideal weight transfer.

From Food to Power: Hydrogel Thermoelectrics for Ingestible Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We introduce a fully edible thermoelectric–electrochromic platform that harvests heat from food and converts it into a visible color change. N‐type and p‐type hydrogel thermoelectric generators connected in series power anthocyanin‐based electrochromic displays, demonstrating the feasibility of safe, biodegradable, ingestible systems for on‐food ...

Engineering Intelligent Graphene Oxide‐Cellulose Membranes: Suppressing Thermal Runaway for a Safer Aqueous Zinc‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A novel thermos‐responsive hydroxypropyl cellulose/graphene oxide (HPC/GO) composite membrane is fabricated for reversible temperature‐gated ion transport in aqueous zinc‐ion batteries. Enabled by LCST‐driven structural transition, unimpeded ion diffusion at room temperature delivers high capacity, while elevated temperature suppresses transport; full ...

Working memory involvement in reaction time and its contribution to fluid intelligence: An examination of individual differences in reaction-time distributions

open access: yesIntelligence, 2018
Reaction-Time (RT) and Working-Memory (WM) are both correlated with fluid intelligence (GF). Prior work exploring the within-participant RT distributions shows (a) that the rate of exceptionally slow responses (indexed by the Tau parameter of the ex ...
