Normal cerebrospinal fluid pressure
Journal of Neurosurgery, 1974✓ The authors report studies of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) pressure in 31 young normal volunteers. In half, a 22-gauge needle was used, and in the other half a 26-gauge needle. The opening CSF pressure was monitored for 10 minutes and also in some during the CSF withdrawal period and the 10-minute CSF reformation period. Cardiac CSF pulse amplitudes and

Fluid simulation without pressure
ACM SIGGRAPH 2011 Posters, 2011We suggests a new framework for enforcing the divergence-free condition on a velocity field. In this framework, the incompressibility is achieved by summing all the other nodal vorticities rather than via solving the Poisson equation. Our method is very simple to implement in both two and three dimensions and able to substitute for the conventional ...

Abstract Pressure-volume curves were measured for subcutaneous tissue samples from the dog. These were measured in isotonic physiological salt solutions and in 2 M sodium chloride. The latter solvent was used to eliminate (1) the Donnan osmotic pressure of the cations trapped in the interstitial gel and (2) the absorption pressure caused by ...

The possibility of measuring interstitial pressure in the facial nerve using a servo-nulling system was investigated. As a pilot study, interstitial fluid pressure in the extirpated medulla oblongata was measured using this system, and was found to be proportional to the pressure applied to the surrounding tissue block.

EFFECT OF SUCCINYLCHOLINE ON THE INTRAspinal FLUID PRESSURE
Acta Anaesthesiologica Scandinavica, 1959SUMMARYThe intraspinal pressure was investigated in 15 patients under anaesthesia after intravenous injection of succinylcholine. In all, 23 experiments were carried out.The pressure began to rise within 1 minute after the intravenous injection, and the rise in pressure varied between 5 and 320 mm H2O above the initial pressure. At the end of the apnoea

Effect of spinal fluid pressure on cerebrospinal fluid formation
Experimental Neurology, 1971Abstract The effect of spinal fluid pressure on cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) formation was measured in rabbits and cats. A decreased rate of CSF production with increased perfusion pressure was found, which was best illustrated by paired comparisons in individual animals during ventriculocisternal perfusion at both low (−5 to −10 cm H2O) and high (20–25

Role of fluid pressure in jointing
American Journal of Science, 1965Geologic evidence suggests that some joints are tension fractures developed perpendicular to the least principal stress direction in rock. In this study the mechanics of natural tension fracturing is examined in light of the fluid pressure theory developed by Hubbert and Rubey (1959).

Oncotic pressure of subdural fluids
Journal of Neurosurgery, 1980✓ The oncotic pressure of fluid from subdural heatomas and subdural hygromas was compared to that of simultaneously drawn venous blood in 20 patients. There was no significant difference in the oncotic pressure of fluid from subdural hematomas and venous blood; however, the oncotic pressure of fluid from subdural hygromas was significantly less than ...

Impaired cerebrospinal fluid pressure
2018Abnormalities of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) pressure are relatively common and may lead to a variety of symptoms, with headache usually being the most prominent one. The clinical presentation of alterations in CSF pressure may vary significantly and show a striking similitude to several primary headache syndromes.

Tissue fluid pressure, lymph pressure, and fluid transport in rat intestinal villi
Microvascular Research, 1986Tissue fluid pressure (Pt) and lymph pressure (Pl) as well as fluid transport between initial lymphatics and tissue matrix were determined in the villi of the jejunum in vivo and in vitro. When the intestine was absorbing fluid, free tissue fluid as a micro pool appeared in the villi.
