Tailoring the Properties of Functional Materials With N‐Oxides
The properties of materials bearing N‐oxide groups are often dominated by the polar N+─O− bond. It provides hydrophilicity, selective ion‐binding, electric conductivity, or antifouling properties. Many of the underlying mechanisms have only recently been discovered, and the interest in N‐oxide materials is rapidly growing.

Tuned Liquid Dampers (TLDs) are dissipative devices that mitigate vibrations through the out-of-phase movement of a fluid, typically water, inside a container relative to a main structure.

The effects of increased fluid viscosity on swallowing sounds in healthy adults
BackgroundCervical auscultation (CA) is an affordable, non-invasive technique used to observe sounds occurring during swallowing. CA involves swallowing characterization via stethoscopes or microphones, while accelerometers can detect other vibratory ...

Peptide Sequencing With Single Acid Resolution Using a Sub‐Nanometer Diameter Pore
To sequence a single molecule of Aβ1−42–sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS), the aggregate is forced through a sub‐nanopore 0.4 nm in diameter spanning a 4.0 nm thick membrane. The figure is a visual molecular dynamics (VMD) snapshot depicting the translocation of Aβ1−42–SDS through the pore; only the peptide, the SDS, the Na+ (yellow/green) and Cl− (cyan ...

An exploration of viscosity models in the realm of kinetic theory of liquids originated fluids
The preeminent perspective of this article is to study flow of an Eyring Powell fluid model past a penetrable plate. To find the effects of variable viscosity on fluid model, continuity, momentum and energy equations are elaborated.

The onset of viscous fingering in the presence of a non monotonic viscosity profile is investigated theoretically for two immiscible fluids. Classical fluid dynamics predicts that no unstable behavior may be observed when a viscous fluid pushes a less ...

Setting the pace of microswimmers: when increasing viscosity speeds up self-propulsion
It has long been known that some microswimmers seem to swim counter-intuitively faster when the viscosity of the surrounding fluid is increased, whereas others slow down.

Finite-time future singularities models in $f(T)$ gravity and the effects of viscosity
We investigate models of future finite-time singularities in $f(T)$ theory, where $T$ is the torsion scalar. The algebraic function $f(T)$ is put as the teleparallel term $T$ plus an arbitrary function $g(T)$.
