Granular Stack Density’s Influence on Homogeneous Fluidization Regime: Numerical Study Based on EDEM-CFD Coupling

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2021
FLUENT and EDEM were applied to simulate liquid–solid coupling in a 3D homogenous fluidization. The dynamics of destabilization of the granular material immersed by homogeneous fluidization were observed. The effect of initial packing density of granular

A Lattice Gas Automata Model for the Coupled Heat Transfer and Chemical Reaction of Gas Flow Around and Through a Porous Circular Cylinder

open access: yesEntropy, 2015
Coupled heat transfer and chemical reaction of fluid flow in complex boundaries are explored by introducing two additional properties, i.e. particle type and energy state into the Lattice gas automata (LGA) Frisch–Hasslacher–Pomeau (FHP-II) model.

Improving Fluidization Hydrodynamics of Group C Particles by Mixing with Group B Particles

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2018
We have developed a new particle-mixing strategy for improving the fluidization hydrodynamics of Geldart group C powders by mixing with small proportions of group B particles. Two different group C particles with widely different physical properties, i.e.

Long-runout fluidization disaster simulation analysis of clastic landslide under heavy rainfall: A case study of the Niuerwan landslide

open access: yesDizhi lixue xuebao, 2022
The frequent occurrence of remote landslide disasters under heavy rainfall in the mountainous area with sand-mudstone strata in southwest China is a critical issue to be solved in disaster prevention and mitigation.

Fluidization-mediated tissue spreading by mitotic cell rounding and non-canonical Wnt signalling

open access: yesNature Cell Biology, 2018
Tissue morphogenesis is driven by mechanical forces that elicit changes in cell size, shape and motion. The extent by which forces deform tissues critically depends on the rheological properties of the recipient tissue.

Development and validation of an enhanced filtered drag model for simulating gas-solid fluidization of Geldart A particles in all flow regimes

open access: yesChemical Engineering and Science, 2018
Coarse-grid two-fluid simulation of gas-solid fluidized bed reactors based on the kinetic theory of granular flow exhibits a significant dependence on drag models, especially for Geldart A particles.

Experimental Analysis of the Fluidization Process of Binary Mixtures of Solids

open access: yesKONA Powder and Particle Journal, 2014
The simultaneous treatment of dissimilar solids is encountered in a number of processes that exploit fluidization technology (granulation, combustion, pyrolysis, etc.), but a satisfactory description of ...

Deformation Monitoring and Dynamic Analysis of Long-Runout Bedding Landslide Based on InSAR and Particle Flow Code

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2023
Long-runout landslides occur frequently in the sandstone and mudstone mountainous areas in southwestern China under heavy rainfall conditions. This has been a key issue in the field of disaster prevention and reduction. Considering the Niuerwan landslide

Fluidization Characteristics of a Centrifugal Fluidized Bed.

open access: yesKAGAKU KOGAKU RONBUNSHU, 1993
