Torrefaction of sawdust in a fluidized bed reactor

Bioresource Technology, 2012
In the present work, stable fluidization of sawdust was achieved in a bench fluidized bed with an inclined orifice distributor without inert bed materials. A solids circulation pattern was established in the bed without the presence of slugging and channeling.

Bed Voidage Correlation in Fluidized Bed Biofilm Reactor

Journal of Environmental Engineering, 2000
A simple predictive correlation for bed voidage in a three-phase fluidized bed biofilm reactor (FBBR) has been proposed in this study, based on a relationship between the effective up-flow superficial liquid velocity (\IU\dL\N) and the corresponding up-flow superficial liquid velocity in a three-phase FBBR (\IU\dL\N).

Heterotrophic denitrification using fluidized bed reactor

Acta hydrochimica et hydrobiologica, 1995
AbstractGroundwater denitrification was carried out in a fluidized bed reactor. This type of reactor is suited well to conditions of low substrate concentrations and high flow rates which are typical in groundwater denitrification processes.

Fluidized bed biofilm reactor for wastewater treatment

1986
The fluidized bed biofilm reactor (FBBR) represents a recent innovation in biofilm processes. Immobilization of microorganisms on the small, fluidized particles of the medium results in a high reactor biomass holdup which enables the process to be operated at significantly higher liquid throughputs with the practical absence of biomass wash-out.

Fluidized Bed Reactor Processes

1997
Fluidized bed reactors are widely used in the petrochemical (catalytic cracking) and chemical process industries (phthalic and maleic anhydride, oxychlorination of ethylene, acrylonitrile, alkylchloride production etc.). They are often selected as the reactor of choice for certain processes in which solids handling or a high heat transfer rate is of ...

Fluidized bed claus reactor studies

1981
Fluidized bed reactor studies were performed on the Claus reaction, ie. 2H₂S + S0₂3/n S[sub=n]n + 2H₂0. The basic objective was to determine whether the performance of the Claus process could be improved by replacing conventional fixed bed reactors with fluidized bed reactors.
