Shell characterization of the youngest valid species of the European Eocene genus Neochelys (Pleurodira, Podocnemididae): The Spanish Bartonian Neochelys salmanticensis

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, Volume 308, Issue 6, Page 1553-1572, June 2025.
Abstract The freshwater pleurodiran turtle Neochelys is the best‐represented member of Podocnemididae in the European record, being known by eight Eocene species. The youngest of them is the Bartonian (middle Eocene) Neochelys salmanticensis, from the Duero Basin (Salamanca Province, Central Spain).

Convección térmica en fluidos, medios porosos y medios porosos con fracturas inclinadas

open access: yesCiencia Ergo Sum, 2001
Se presenta una revisión sobre el problema de la convección térmica en fluidos, medios porosos homogéneos saturados y en fracturas inclinadas llenas de fluido inmersas en matrices porosas de muy baja permeabilidad. En este último caso presentamos algunos

A new Crocodyloidea from the middle Eocene of Zamora (Duero Basin, Spain)

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, Volume 308, Issue 6, Page 1692-1706, June 2025.
Abstract The eusuchian crocodyliforms recorded in the Eocene levels of the Spanish Duero Basin belong to three lineages: Planocraniidae, with the species Duerosuchus piscator; Alligatoroidea, represented by several specimens of the genus Diplocynodon; and Crocodyloidea, which includes several specimens traditionally attributed to Asiatosuchus.

A bothremydid turtle (Pleurodira) from the middle Cenomanian of Vale de Figueira (Belas, Portugal)

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, Volume 308, Issue 6, Page 1573-1579, June 2025.
Abstract An unpublished turtle shell from the middle Cenomanian of Vale de Figueira, near Belas (Lisbon District, Portugal), is recognized by us as collected in 1880 under the direction of Carlos Ribeiro. No turtle remains from that region had so far been figured, described or discussed from a systematic point of view.

Imbibición en papel

open access: yesCiencia Ergo Sum, 1999
Se estudió un grupo de patrones experimentales durante el proceso de imbibición. A partir del registro de dichos patrones y la digitalización de cuadros elegidos, se midieron los frentes de la imbibición (límites entre las zonas secas y húmedas) en papel

Quadratic unconstrained binary optimization for environmental control system equipment design and assessment

open access: yesAdvanced Modeling and Simulation in Engineering Sciences
This paper explores possible implementations of a quantum annealing-based algorithm, in the Quadratic unconstrained binary optimization method (QUBO) form, to solve the thermo-fluid dynamics problem associated with the design of critical components of ...

Monitoring Leaf Rust and Yellow Rust in Wheat with 3D LiDAR Sensing

open access: yesRemote Sensing
Leaf rust and yellow rust are globally significant fungal diseases that severely impact wheat production, causing yield losses of up to 60% in highly susceptible cultivars. Early and accurate detection is crucial for integrating precision crop protection

Subcritical water-ethanol treatment for sugar cane trash biomass fractionation: An experimental study of the effect of process conditions on simultaneous delignification and hydrolysis

open access: yesIndustrial Crops and Products
Biomass fractionation by delignification and hydrolysis of sugar cane trash with subcritical water-ethanol treatment was investigated by experimental factorial design in which temperature and ethanol volume percent (v.%) were the assessed factors.
