Dietary Protein Intake and Peritoneal Protein Losses in Peritoneal Dialysis Patients
ABSTRACT Introduction Peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients lose protein in their waste dialysate, potentially increasing their risk for malnutrition. We wished to determine whether there was any association between losses and dietary protein intake (DPI). Methods DPI was assessed from 24‐h dietary recall using Nutrics software.

The behaviour of magnetorheological fluids in squeeze mode [PDF]
Magnetorheological (MR) fluids possess rheological properties, which can be changed in a controlled way. These rheological changes are reversible and dependent on the strength of an excitation magnetic field.

Electrokinetic effects in helical flow of non-linear viscoelastic fluids
Helical flows of complex fluids through annular regions have been studied extensively for their large spectrum of applications ranging from extrusion to mud drilling. Such flows include an axial flow in the presence of cylinder rotations, and they become

ABSTRACT Introduction Bloodstream infections due to repeated vascular access (VA) puncture and circuit connections remain major concerns in hemodialysis. Therefore, we examined current practices for glove, disinfectant, and personal protective equipment (PPE) use according to VA type in national university hospitals in Japan.

Rapid wetting of shear-thinning fluids
Using experiments and numerical simulations, we investigate the spontaneous spread-ing of droplets of aqueous glycerol (Newtonian) and aqueous polymer (shear-thinning) solutions on smooth surfaces.

ABSTRACT Background Therapeutic apheresis (TA) is an established treatment modality for hematologic, neurologic, and immunologic disorders, yet access remains severely limited in sub‐Saharan Africa. Donor apheresis, including platelet apheresis collection from healthy donors, represents an important complementary modality supporting blood product ...
