Dataset for a flume experiment on sediment augmentation

2022
Dataset for the paper "Influence of hydrograph shape and sediment augmentation repetition frequency on sediment transport dynamics and bed morphology evolution". It includes coordinates of the defined areas of interest and digital elevation models from the scanned channel topographies.

Bed-Load Transport Flume Experiments on Steep Slopes

Journal of Hydraulic Engineering, 2008
Experiments were conducted over uniform gravel bed materials to obtain 143 friction factor values under bed-load equilibrium flow conditions in an attempt to add to the scarce data available on slopes between 1 and 9% for Shields numbers between 0.08 and 0.29.

Sidewall and non-uniformity corrections for flume experiments

Journal of Hydraulic Research, 2014
ABSTRACTStudying open channel flow and sediment transport in narrow flumes under non-uniform flow conditions, both sidewall and non-uniformity corrections are required for bed-shear stress. This research first reviews conventional predictive methods for bed-shear stress, including the flow-depth method, the hydraulic radius method and Einstein's ...

Flume Experiments on Flow in Mobile Bed Channels

Journal of the Hydraulics Division, 1970
There is an enormous variability in the flow equations which were proposed for mobile-bed channels, and which contain a term that purports to measure sediment load. J. W. Johnson compiled experimental data on sediment transport data that existed prior to 1948 to address this problem.

Flume experiments on wood transport in river bends

2020
The present work presents a study of the transport of Large Wood (LW) in river bends. The presence of LW in river networks is of interest due to its influence on river processes and ecosystems. Moreover, the transport of in-channel wood may create additional hazards during floods when the LW interacts with in-channel structures such as bridges.

Carbonate Marine Cementation Based on Flume Tank Experiments

Middle East Oil, Gas and Geosciences Show (MEOS GEO)
Abstract Carbonate diagenesis is one of the key processes that ultimately controls reservoir quality and storage capacity of carbonate reservoirs. The rates of early marine diagenetic reactions in the geological past are little constrained. Fundamental physical experiments allow the calibration of early carbonate diagenesis for a variety

Flume experiments on the origin of flaser bedding

Sedimentology, 1981
ABSTRACTA series of flume runs using a 12·5 h tidal cycle was conducted in order to determine whether or not flaser beds could be formed in nearshore subtidal areas as a result of purely tidal activity. The effects of clay composition, sand size, bed thickness, and maximum current velocity were investigated.
