Fluorene based electrochromic conjugated polymers: A review
WOS:000862249300004This review briefly describes electrochromic conductive polymers containing fluorene in the main chain or as a subunit/core. According to the arrangement of the fluorene unit and its chemical location on the chain, polyfluorene family ...

Fungal degradation of fluorene
Chemosphere, 2000A selection of 30 strains of micromycetes known as good degraders of polychlorinated aromatic compounds, mostly isolated from soil and belonging to various taxonomic groups, have been investigated to degrade fluorene. Toxicity assays, first evaluated on solid media, have shown high growth inhibition at concentrations above 0.001 g l-1 only towards 23 ...

Study on the volatility of halogenated fluorenes
Chemosphere, 2016This work reports the experimental determination of relevant thermophysical properties of five halogenated fluorenes. The vapor pressures of the compounds studied were measured at different temperatures using two different experimental techniques. The static method was used for studying 2-fluorofluorene (liquid and crystal vapor pressures between 321 ...

Mutagenicity of methylated fluorenes and benzofluorenes
Mutation Research Letters, 1981Methylated fluorenes were assayed for mutagenic activity towards Salmonella typhimurium TA98 and TA100. None of these methylfluorenes were mutagenic in the absence of metabolic activation. In the presence of 9000 X g supernatant from Aroclor-induced rats, 9-methylfluorene and 1,9-dimethylfluorene were active towards TA98 and TA100.

Novel Soluble Fluorene–Thienothiadiazole and Fluorene–Carbazole Copolymers for Optoelectronics
Macromolecular Symposia, 2010AbstractSummary: Optical, photophysical, electrochemical and photoelectrical properties of novel soluble low‐bandgap fluorene – thienothiadiazole based copolymers (CHTF and CDTF) and luminescent fluorene – carbazole copolymers, (CFCzE and CFCZA) were studied.

In fluorene-1-carboxylic acid, C14H10O2, the sole hydrogen bond is of the cyclic dimer type about a center of symmetry. The carboxyl H atom is ordered. Distances in the fluorene core are very similar to those in fluorene itself; the fluorene core dihedral angle is, however, larger than in fluorene.

Dispiro(fluorene-9,4'-[1,3]dithiolane-5',9''-fluorene)
Acta Crystallographica Section C Crystal Structure Communications, 1995The crystal structure of dispiro(fluorene-9,4'-[1,3]dithiolane-5',9-fluorene), C 27 H 18 S 2 , is reported. The C4-C5 bond connecting the two fluorenyl groups is 1.580 (4) A which is slightly longer than the C-C bond lengths [1.36-1.49 A] in other 1,3-dithiolanes.

Macrospirocyclic Oligomers Based on Carbazole and Fluorene
Organic Letters, 2010Monodisperse macrospirocyclic oligomers were prepared using self-condensation of the Friedel-Crafts reaction. Through the C-9s of the central fluorene units of four surrounding oligofluorenes, four carbazole units are connected in a series to form a macrocyclic core.
