Comparison of biomicroscopic fluorescein tear breakup time with noninvasive tear breakup time in diabetic patients with dry eyes

open access: yesThe Pan-American Journal of Ophthalmology
Objectives: This study aimed to compare biomicroscopic fluorescein tear breakup time (TBUT) with noninvasive tear breakup time (NI-TBUT) using Sirius topography in diabetic patients with dry eyes.

Functional Analysis of Ligand‐Gated Chloride Channels in a Cnidarian Sheds Light on the Evolution of Inhibitory Signaling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We uncover a large variety of putative inhibitory ligand‐gated ion channels (LGICs) in the phylum Cnidaria, the sister group to all bilaterian animals. Phylogenetic analysis suggests a complex evolutionary history of inhibitory LGICs with diverse neurotransmitter ligands.

Visualization of Endosomal Escape of Intracellularly Delivered Protein With Unexpected Photochemical Internalization of Trypan Blue

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
TB, a conventional cell viability dye, acts as both a fluorescence modulator (quenching GFP fluorescence upon protein binding and recovering it upon release) and a photosensitizer that triggers endosomal escape via photochemical internalization (PCI) under 590 nm light.

Bifidobacterium Pseudolongum‐Derived Acetate Attenuates Acute Pancreatitis Through GPR43‐Mediated Suppression of M1 Macrophage Polarization

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The severity of acute pancreatitis (AP) is linked to reduced abundance of Bifidobacterium pseudolongum (B. pseudolongum). Administration of B. pseudolongum or its key metabolite acetate alleviates pancreatic and systemic inflammation by suppressing M1 macrophage polarization.

FITC and Ru(phen)3 2+ co-doped silica particles as visualized ratiometric pH indicator

open access: yesNanoscale Research Letters, 2011
The performance of fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC) and tris(1, 10-phenanathroline) ruthenium ion (Ru(phen)3 2+) co-doped silica particles as pH indicator was evaluated. The emission intensity ratios of the pH sensitive dye (FITC) and the reference dye (

Localized NF‐κB Inhibition Reduces Lipid Nanoparticle‐Associated Inflammation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) activate NF‐κB and provoke inflammation that limits therapeutic delivery. By encapsulating selective NF‐κB inhibitors within LNPs, localized suppression of inflammatory signaling is achieved without compromising mRNA expression.

Engineered Bacteria Factory Integrating Drug Delivery and Antibody Manufacture for Activating the STING Signal Pathway Mediated Tumor Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
To address the limitations of protein‐based ICIs in applications, this study constructed an engineered bacterium, HRB, capable of expressing aCD47 in hypoxic TME. Through the Schiff base reaction, responsive liposomes (LC) loaded with the STING agonist cGAMP were connected to the surface of bacteria to form HRB@LC.
