Lysyl Oxidase Reduces Neutrophil Extravasation in Response to P. aeruginosa in an Infection‐on‐a‐Chip Model

Lysyl oxidase crosslinking of type I collagen decreases neutrophil extravasation through an endothelium during the initial response to P. aeruginosa. This decrease in extravasation is likely due to the increase in VE‐cadherin expression between endothelial cells seeded on LOX‐crosslinked collagen hydrogels.

NUAK2 Inhibition Enhances Macromolecular Drug Delivery in a 3D Fibrotic Model of the Pancreatic Tumor Microenvironment

Using a 3D cell culture model of the fibrotic barrier in pancreatic cancer, this work shows that inhibiting NUAK2 kinase in pancreatic stellate cells enhances macromolecular drug delivery. Mechanistically, NUAK2 inhibition disrupted actin stress fiber assembly to downregulate collagen I expression, thus enhancing macromolecular permeability.

Donor–Acceptor Pentacene Analogues With Near‐Infrared Emission and Tunable Aromaticity

Air‐ and photostable heterocyclic pentacene analogues with donor and acceptor groups flanking a para‐quinodimethane core exhibit large dipole moments, narrow bandgaps, reversible redox behavior, and NIR‐I to NIR‐II absorption and emission with pronounced solvatochromism.

Domino Polymerization for the Synthesis of Reductively Degradable Poly(disulfide)s With Arbitrary Side‐Chain Structures

We developed a novel domino polymerization to synthesize reductively degradable poly(disulfide)s with tunable side chains. A novel monomer bearing thiolactone and pyridyl disulfide groups reacts with various amines, enabling continuous ring‐opening and disulfide exchange.
