Etoposide, a topoisomerase II inhibitor, reduces O‐GlcNAcylation in HepG2 liver cancer cells. Further inhibition of O‐GlcNAc transferase by OSMI‐1 enhanced etoposide‐induced apoptosis, lowering the IC50 for viability and increasing the EC50 for cytotoxicity.

Plasmonic enhancement of fluorescence and Raman scattering by metal nanotips [PDF]
We report modifications to the optical properties of fluorophores in the vicinity of noble metal nanotips. The fluorescence from small clusters of quantum dots has been imaged using an apertureless scanning near-field optical microscope. When a sharp gold tip is brought close to the sample surface, a strong distance-dependent enhancement of the quantum

ZNF469 regulates the expression of genes encoding extracellular matrix proteins. Endogenous ZNF469 is predominantly cytoplasmic, while in transfected cells, it forms aggregates reminiscent of biomolecular condensates, located mainly in the nucleus. These condensates exhibit overlapping staining with proteasomes and are also associated with the mitotic ...

Fluholoscopy. Compact and Simple Platform Combining Fluorescence and Holographic Microscopy [PDF]
The combination of different imaging modalities into single imaging platforms has a strong potential in biomedical sciences since it permits the analysis of complementary properties of the target sample. Here, we report on an extremely simple, cost-effective, and compact microscope platform for achieving simultaneous fluorescence and quantitative phase

Advanced glycation end products promote the release of endothelial cell‐derived mitocytosis
Under diabetic conditions, AGEs induce mitochondrial damage in HUVECs, activating migrasome‐mediated mitocytosis. Migrasomes encapsulate damaged mitochondria and are released into the extracellular space, facilitating intercellular mitochondrial transfer.
