Fluorescence Microscopic Methods in Histochemistry
1991The majority of tissue components in unstained untreated sections show some degree of fluorescence. This is called primary fluorescence or autofluorescence. Such autofluorescence is particularly pronounced in plant tissues, while in animal tissue, collagen, elastin, and lipofuscin are noted for this property.

Designing a Confocal Fluorescence Microscope
1994The confocal fluorescence microscope (CFM) plays an important role in modern light microscopy. It has enabled a smooth and relatively quick transition from the observation of flat specimens in two dimensions to the observation of thick specimens in three dimensions.
