Upconversion Photoluminescence to Monitor Local Heat Release During Femtosecond Direct Laser Writing of Bioinks In Situ

open access: yesSmall Methods, EarlyView.
Upconversion nanoparticle photoluminescence was used to quantify heat burden during femtosecond direct laser writing of bioinks in real time. Transient temperature spikes above 120–140°C demonstrate the need for a stringent process optimization, and fast 20 µm/s scan speeds were established to maintain physiological conditions.

Generally Applicable Transformation Protocols for Fluorescent Nanodiamond Internalization into Cells

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
Fluorescent nanodiamonds (FNDs) are promising nanoprobes, owing to their stable and magnetosensitive fluorescence. Therefore they can probe properties as magnetic resonances, pressure, temperature or strain.

High‐Yield Assembly of Plasmon‐Coupled Nanodiamonds Using DNA Origami for Tuned Emission

open access: yesSmall Structures, EarlyView.
Engineering assemblies of single‐photon emitters and plasmonic elements with nanometer precision opens pathways for quantum sensing and photonics applications. A surface functionalization strategy is established for grafting DNA onto nanodiamonds, and their placement on DNA origami is optimized to achieve yields above 50%.

Advanced post-treatment strategy for quantum-grade fluorescent nanodiamonds

open access: yesFrontiers in Quantum Science and Technology
Fluorescent nanodiamonds (FNDs) containing nitrogen-vacancy (NV−) centers are promising platforms for quantum sensing and bioimaging, but their performance is often limited by surface defects, residual graphitic carbon, and ionic contamination.

Nanomaterials' Multigenerational Effects by Single and Joint Exposure in Non‐mammalian Models

open access: yesEnvironmental Toxicology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Nanotoxicology has mainly focused on single‐generation studies, leaving multigenerational toxicity underexplored. Having animal welfare recently gained importance, we aimed to provide the state‐of‐the‐art of knowledge about multigenerational effects in non‐mammalian models in the case of nanomaterials (NM) single and joint exposure to other ...

Quantum‐Grade Nanodiamonds from a Single‐Step, Industrial‐Scale Pressure and Temperature Process

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 12, 9 February 2026.
Novel method for creation of nitrogen‐vacancy centers in 50‐nm nanodiamonds based on high‐temperature plastic deformation is demonstrated. Compared to the electron irradiation approach, it yields nitrogen‐vacancy centers with significantly improved charge stability, T1 relaxation time, and optical Rabi contrast.

Targeting Myeloid-Derived Suppressor Cells via Dual-Antibody Fluorescent Nanodiamond Conjugate

open access: yesNanomaterials
Fluorescent nanodiamonds (FNDs) are carbon-based nanomaterials that emit bright, photostable fluorescence and exhibit a modifiable surface chemistry. Myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSCs) are an immunosuppressive cell population known to expand in ...
