Bonding in Xenon Fluorides and Halogen Fluorides
Science, 1963The bonding in rare gas fluorides is similar to that in halogen polyfluorides, and the stability of such compounds should depend primarily on the ionization potential of the central atom. This theory is consistent with findings for all known compounds of the system and yields predictions concerning other systems.

Fluoride and the fluoridation of water
1982In the early years of this century a dentist in Colorado, Frederick McKay, observed that the permanent teeth of many of his patients showed either white chalky patches or lines which, in more severe cases, had a rough surface and, some years after eruption, became an unsightly yellow or brown. The condition was uncommon in the deciduous teeth.

Fluoride in Infant Formulas and Fluoride Supplementation
Pediatrics, 1981The January 1979 Statement by the American Academy of Pediatrics Committee on Nutrition on fluoride supplementation included a revised dosage schedule and carried a footnote stating that commercial infant formulas would not be manufactured with fluoridated water by the time of publication of the statement (Pediatrics 63:150, 1979).

To the Editor.— Commenting on the question of allergy to fluoride, I have utilized fairly large doses, from 40 to 120 mg daily, for patients with active spongification of the cochlear capsule to promote recalcification. A total of 1,500 patients have been treated to date for periods of six months and up to four years.
