Preparation of a chromium carbon coating on 316L by a disproportionation reaction in molten salts and its corrosion resistance in molten fluorides

open access: yesElectrochemistry Communications, 2022
Molten fluorides have been widely used in specific nuclear reprocessing and molten salt reactors due to their unique pyrophysical and pyrochemical properties.

Piezoelectric polyvinylidene fluoride-based epoxy composites produced by combined uniaxial compression and poling [PDF]

open access: yesAppl. Phys. Lett. 115, 192902 (2019), 2019
We present a simple, efficient method, which combines uniaxial compression and subsequent poling, to produce piezoelectric polyvinylidene fluoride-based epoxy composites. The values of the piezoelectric factors obtained are slightly higher than those of neat piezoelectric polyvinylidene fluoride.

Determination of fluoride content in drinking water and tea infusions using fluoride ion selective electrode [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Agricultural Sciences (Belgrade), 2007
Potentiometric analysis of fluoride content (as F- ion) in solutions by using fluoride ion-selective electrode is simple, reliable and cheap. Very small concentrations of fluoride-ions (to 10-6 mol/dm3) can be determined by fluoride selective electrode ...

Prediction for new magnetoelectric fluorides [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
We use symmetry considerations in order to predict new magnetoelectric fluorides. In addition to these magnetoelectric properties, we discuss among these fluorides the ones susceptible to present multiferroic properties. We emphasize that several materials present ferromagnetic properties.

Giantically blue-shifted visible light in femtosecond mid-IR filament in fluorides [PDF]

open access: yesOpt. Express 23, 29202-29210 (2015), 2015
A giant blue shift of an isolated visible band of supercontinuum was discovered and studied in the single filament regime of Mid-IR femtosecond laser pulse at powers slightly exceeding critical power for self-focusing in fluorides.

In Vitro Evaluation of Shear Bond Strength of Nanocomposites to Dentin [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Clinical and Diagnostic Research, 2015
Aims: To compare the shear bond strength of nanocomposites to dentin using three different types of adhesive systems; and to test few specimens under Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) for analysing whether the bond failure is adhesive or cohesive ...

A rapid access to aliphatic sulfonyl fluorides

open access: yesNature Communications, 2019
Sulfonyl fluorides are important probes in chemical biology and molecular pharmacology. Here, the authors report a mild visible light-mediated decarboxylative fluorosulfonylethylation for the synthesis of aliphatic sulfonyl fluorides from a wide range of

Nickel-Catalyzed Decarbonylative Stannylation of Acyl Fluorides under Ligand-Free Conditions

open access: yesMolecules, 2019
Nickel-catalyzed decarbonylative stannylation of acyl fluorides under ligand-free conditions was disclosed. A variety of aromatic acyl fluorides are capable of reacting with silylstannanes in the presence of cesium fluoride.

Reversible Fluorination of Graphene: towards a Two-Dimensional Wide Bandgap Semiconductor [PDF]

open access: yesPhys. Rev. B 81, 205435 (2010), 2010
We report the synthesis and evidence of graphene fluoride, a two-dimensional wide bandgap semiconductor derived from graphene. Graphene fluoride exhibits hexagonal crystalline order and strongly insulating behavior with resistance exceeding 10 G$\Omega$ at room temperature.
