Rapid Electrothermal Heating and Molten Salt Etching to Produce Ti3C2 MXenes

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Rapid synthesis of MXenes would allow for easier production of these 2D nanomaterials. This article utilizes the electrothermal synthesis technique of indirect Joule heating with molten salt etching to produce Ti3C2TX in 30 min, decreasing etching time by 98%.

Unveiling SEI Formation Dynamics of PEO: LiTFSI with Lithium Metal: An In Situ Approach Combining SIMS, XPS, and CTTA

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
This study examines the interphase formation of polyethylene oxide (PEO) and lithium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide (LiTFSI) with lithium metal. Utilizing secondary ion mass spectrometry (SIMS), X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and coulometric titration time analysis (CTTA), it analyzes the solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) layer's ...

Sediment‐Resistant Marine Antifouling Coating Based on Amphiphilic Copolymer Brushes Bearing Sulfobetaine and Isobornyl Pendants

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Amphiphilic copolymer coatings comprising sulfobetaine methacrylate (SBMA) and isobornyl methacrylate (IBMA) are reported, synthesized via SI‐ATRP, that resist biological fouling and sediment accumulation. The copolymer coating with an SBMA:IBMA feed molar ratio of 1:1 is optimal for reducing diatom adhesion and sediment adsorption.
