Consistent performance between medical experts and non‐expert readers in forced‐choice lesion‐detection tasks with PET images

open access: yesMedical Physics, Volume 52, Issue 11, November 2025.
Abstract Background Labeled data are used to train, validate, and test deep learning model observers (DLMOs) as well as linear model observers, such as channelized Hotelling observers (CHOs), for image quality assessment in many imaging modalities, including PET imaging. Ideally, these annotations would come from clinical readers, but these readers are

Atypical Neuroblastoma With Absent Urinary Catecholamine Excretion and 123ImIBG Avidity Are of Favorable Outcome: A Retrospective French Single‐Center Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, Volume 72, Issue 11, November 2025.
Abstract Background In neuroblastoma (NB), urinary catecholamine excretion and 123ImIBG avidity—depending on tumor enzymatic activity and norepinephrine transporter expression, respectively—are diagnostic standards. The prognostic impact of atypical NB, without urinary catecholamine excretion and/or 123ImIBG avidity, remains to be determined. We sought

Pulmonary Mucosa‐Associated Lymphoid Tissue (MALT) Lymphoma: A Diagnostic Dilemma

open access: yesRespirology Case Reports, Volume 13, Issue 11, November 2025.
This case report describes a patient with systemic lupus erythematosus who was incidentally diagnosed with pulmonary MALT lymphoma after years of indolent radiographic progression. Management included a prolonged period of observation followed by rituximab, with only a partial radiographic response.

Impact of timing of computed tomography staging and patient factors on the detection of ‘true’ cN+ bladder cancer

open access: yesBJU International, Volume 136, Issue 5, Page 911-919, November 2025.
Objectives To evaluate whether computed tomography (CT) scans should be performed before or after transurethral resection of bladder tumour (TURBT) for accurate lymph node staging in clinically lymph node‐positive bladder cancer (BCa). Additionally, to identify patient factors that can aid in predicting lymph node metastasis.

High‐intensity statin therapy is associated with reduced coronary inflammation on CT in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus

open access: yesDiabetes, Obesity and Metabolism, Volume 27, Issue 11, Page 6395-6402, November 2025.
Abstract Aims Pericoronary adipose tissue (PCAT) attenuation, assessed by coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA), is a biomarker of coronary inflammation. Mean PCAT attenuation ≥ −70.5 Hounsfield Units (HU) corresponds to elevated inflammation and a higher future risk of myocardial infarction.
