Clinical Success Impacts Overall Survival in Patients Undergoing Palliation for Malignant Gastric Outlet Obstruction Using Enteral Stents or Endoscopic Ultrasound Guided Gastroenterostomy

open access: yesJournal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background EUS‐guided gastroenterostomy (EUS‐GE) and enteral stents (ES) are minimally invasive options for managing malignant gastric outlet obstruction (mGOO). We aimed to compare EUS‐GE with ES with respect to clinical success assessed objectively and overall survival. Methods Retrospective review of patients > 18 years who underwent either

Impact of Hiatus Hernia and Reflux on Bolus Transport Through the Esophagus and the Esophagogastric Junction and in Relation to Dysphagia

open access: yesNeurogastroenterology &Motility, EarlyView.
Hiatus hernia alters esophageal anatomy, generating mechanical resistance in the mid‐distal esophagus that impairs bolus transport to the stomach. These findings are also observed in patients with reflux and are associated with dysphagia symptoms. ABSTRACT Background Dysphagia and reflux are frequently experienced by individuals with hiatus hernia (HH),

Neuropathic Gastroduodenal Disorders Can Be Diagnosed by Non‐Invasive Body Surface Gastric Mapping: A Comparison With Antroduodenal Manometry

open access: yesNeurogastroenterology &Motility, EarlyView.
BSGM is a noninvasive diagnostic tool measuring gastric myoelectrical activity. BSGM low‐stability phenotype had a perfect correlation with neuropathy on ADM and normal BSGM phenotype had an overall good correlation with normal ADM studies. Patients with low‐stability BSGM had an overall higher level of nausea and bloating.

Unilateral Dual‐Plane Puncture Percutaneous Vertebroplasty Reduces Re‐Collapse in Osteoporotic Vertebral Compression Fractures by Advancing Cement Delivery

open access: yesOrthopaedic Surgery, Volume 17, Issue 5, Page 1322-1331, May 2025.
Trajectory of the unilateral dual‐plane puncture. The sagittal CT scan after surgery clearly shows the puncture trajectory of the unilateral dual‐plane puncture. The bone cement simultaneously contacted both the upper and lower end plates. ABSTRACT Purpose Evaluate the efficacy of a novel unilateral dual‐plane puncture technique in improving bone ...
