An analysis of unsteady airfoil stall and stall flutter is presented that is based on a series of approximations. Unsteady aerodynamic characteristics are related theoretically to static aerodynamic characteristics. Preliminary results show good agreement with experimental dynamic stall data.

Coupled mode flutter analysis using flutter derivatives
Journal of Wind Engineering and Industrial Aerodynamics, 1992Abstract The “classical” coupled bending-torsion flutter of long-span bridges, possessing 3-dimensional vibration modes, is investigated both analytically and experimentally. In the analysis, self-excited forces are defined by using the so-called flutter derivatives.

Nonlinear transonic flutter analysis
Dynamics Specialists Conference, 1981A numerical procedure is presented for predicting the static and dynamic aeroelastic characteristics of thin, clean swept wings in transonic flow. The method is based upon the simultaneous time integration of the equations governing the coupled nonlinear fluid dynamic and structural aeroelastic system.
