Repeated Pleistocene Permafrost Episodes in the Western Pannonian Basin
ABSTRACT Concerning the study of past periglacial processes, the Pannonian Basin is a key area as it contains the southernmost frost polygons found in Central Europe. The presence or absence of permafrost is still, however, a matter of debate, and data on the timing of frost action are also scarce.

ABSTRACT The geometry of alluvial river channels can give insight into their stability, which can inform predictions of morphological change, flood risk and ecological degradation. Fundamental hydraulic geometry relations can be used to estimate the equilibrium dimensions of stable river channels by evaluating the balance between the erodibility of bed

ABSTRACT Post‐flood riparian vegetation recovery demands significant attention; however, the complexity of traditional remote sensing methods often hinders environmental managers from implementing rapid vegetation monitoring. This paper developed a model using a Deep Learning Model within ArcGIS to classify and detect recovery of vegetation with high ...

The Sites of Kirchhellen and Weeze, Lower Rhine Bay/Germany, with an Elder Acheulean: starting points for research into the problems of recognizing stone-artefacts in pebble-accumulations of fluviatil terraces [PDF]
The continuing critic by part of the prehistorians, including the principal rejection of pieces found in and on fluvial terraces without additional archaeological documents, which docs include Kirchhellen and Weeze, caused the author to continue research

Pleistocene terraced fluvial succession, northern slope of Torino Hill [PDF]
Abstract A Pleistocene terraced fluvial succession is found on the northern slope of the Torino Hill. This succession consists of many relics of flat surfaces, separated by scarps, often associated with sandy and silty deposits, perched from 30 to 400 m on the Po Plain. Terraced surfaces at high levels are more deformed, dissected and mostly deprived

ABSTRACT The dynamic nature of small islands being geographically isolated and their perceived connectedness with global networks complicates research attempts to draw general conclusions on whether insularity leads to marginalization or strengthens their resilience for sustainable development.
