Fine‐scale patterns of genetic structure in three species of forest birds reveal dynamic Pleistocene history within an Amazonian interfluve

open access: yesIbis, EarlyView.
Phylogeographical studies of Amazonian birds have revealed large intraspecific diversity, even within recognized areas of endemism. To understand the origin and organization of Amazonian diversity, including the influence of current and historical landscapes, we need to evaluate fine‐scale patterns of genetic diversity in relation to detailed ...

Stratigraphy of Fluvial Terraces in the North Uonuma Hill, Niigata Prefecture

open access: yesJournal of the Japan Society of Engineering Geology, 2006

Bio‐mediated cementation of supratidal beach sediments associated with groundwater springs

open access: yesSedimentology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The formation of beachrock, sensu stricto, via carbonate precipitation in the intertidal zone is widespread throughout the tropics and subtropics. While cementation of supratidal beach sediments has also been noted in several locations, it has received much less attention.

Global Hydroclimatic Controls on Multithread River Dynamics

open access: yesAGU Advances, Volume 7, Issue 2, April 2026.
Abstract Most large rivers in densely populated areas split flow into multiple channels, forming interconnected pathways called threads. Multithread rivers are sensitive to hydroclimatic changes, yet understanding their dynamics is challenging due to the lack of robust metrics to characterize their evolution.

Application of RMR89–NATM Rock Mass Classification for Tunnel Design: A Case Study From Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh, India

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 3, March 2026.
The Bilaspur region lies in a highly seismic zone, requiring special attention for infrastructure development like tunnel construction. Rock strength in the area is low, posing challenges for stable tunnel design. RMR values range from 21 to 30, categorizing the rock mass as Poor, requiring robust support measures.

Fluvial terrace formation in a mountainous area (2): influence of eustatism, tectonics and altitudinal distribution of watersheds based on an allostratigraphic study (Albania)

open access: yesComptes Rendus. Géoscience
Terraces are highly developed along the Albanian rivers and eleven levels of terraces are recognized in the area, nine occurring during the last glacial cycle (MIS 5d to end of MIS 2).

A framework for in‐stream jams formed by snow avalanche‐delivered large wood

open access: yesEarth Surface Processes and Landforms, Volume 51, Issue 3, March 2026.
Large wood delivered by avalanches organizes into blanket or transport jam complexes.Jam complexes increase channel width and promote pool and bar formation. Avalanche frequency and magnitude, which are dependent on hillslope angle and roughness characteristics, controls jam complex type.

Erosive Response of Non-Glaciated Pyrenean Headwater Catchments to the Last Major Climate Transition and Establishing Interglacial Conditions

open access: yesQuaternary, 2019
Non-glaciated mountain headwater catchments feature high-resolution geomorphic archives, which provide important insight into erosive processes and sediment dynamics in mountain ranges.

Reconstructing human‐induced geomorphic changes through historical maps and multitemporal remote sensing data in the Cancano–San Giacomo di Fraele reservoirs (Central Alps, Italy)

open access: yesEarth Surface Processes and Landforms, Volume 51, Issue 3, March 2026.
Reconstructing ~200 years of landscape change at the Cancano–San Giacomo hydroelectric system (Central Alps), we integrate historical cartography, archival photographs, multitemporal aerial/satellite imagery and field validation to map pre‐ and post‐impoundment landforms.
