The reinvigoration of the Southern Ocean carbon sink [PDF]
Several studies have suggested that the carbon sink in the Southern Ocean—the ocean’s strongest region for the uptake of anthropogenic CO2 —has weakened in recent decades.

Improved deep flux-weakening control techniques for IPMSM drives
This thesis identified several problems that exist in deep flux-weakening control of the Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine (IPMSM) for which the characteristic current is well within the current limit circle. It then presents several important improvements of the deep flux-weakening control techniques for such an IPMSM drive.

This work explores Li‐substituted P2 layered oxides for Na‐ion batteries by crystallographic and electrochemical studies. The effect of lithium on superstructure orderings, on phase transitions during synthesis and electrochemical cycling and on the interplay of O‐ versus TM‐redox is revealed via various advanced techniques, including semi‐simultaneous

Flux Weakening Optimal Control of the Three-Phase Induction Motor
Abstract This paper illustrates the importance of control on energy saving opportunity in electrical drives systems. The paper’s objective is to develop an optimal control law for a variable flux drive systems with induction machines. The optimal control provides dynamic regimes with minimum input energy and performs the minimization of ...

Stretching the Printability Metric in Direct‐Ink Writing with Highly Extensible Yield‐Stress Fluids
This study introduces “drawability” as a new metric for assessing printability in direct‐ink writing, focusing on gap‐spanning performance and speed robustness. By designing yield‐stress fluids with high extensibility, we demonstrate that extensional strain‐to‐break significantly enhances printability.

Hybrid excited permanent magnet machines for electric and hybrid electric vehicles
This paper reviews various hybrid excited (HE) machines from the perspective of location of PM and DC excitation, series/parallel connection of PM and DC excited magnetic fields, and 2D/3D magnetic fields, respectively.

Biomass Native Structure Into Functional Carbon‐Based Catalysts for Fenton‐Like Reactions
This study indicates that eight biomasses with 2D flaky and 1D acicular structures influence surface O types, morphology, defects, N doping, sp2 C, and Co nanoparticles loading in three series of carbon, N‐doped carbon, and cobalt/graphitic carbon. This work identifies how these structural factors impact catalytic pathways, enhancing selective electron

MTPV for Continuous Flux-Weakening Strategy Control Law for IPMSM
Synchronous motors with Interior Permanent Magnets (IPMSM) are particularly effective for operation at high speed due to their high power density. However the speeds generate large electromagnetic forces and it is necessary to set up a flux-weakening.
