On scale-separated supersymmetric $$\hbox {AdS}_2$$ AdS 2 flux vacua

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields
We argue that scale-separated $$\hbox {AdS}_2$$ AdS 2 vacua with at least two preserved supercharges cannot arise from flux compactifications in a regime of computational control.

Consistent truncation and de Sitter space from gravitational instantons

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2019
We construct a four-dimensional consistent truncation to the bosonic part of the universal sector of Calabi-Yau IIA compactification (i.e. the gravity multiplet, one vectormultiplet, and one hypermultiplet) in the presence of background flux and ...

On Classical de Sitter Vacua in String Theory

open access: yes, 2010
We review the prospect of obtaining tree-level de Sitter (dS) vacua and slow-roll inflation models in string compactifications. Restricting ourselves to the closed string sector and assuming the absence of NSNS-sources, we classify the minimal classical ...

Structure of hyperbolic polynomial automorphisms of C2${\mathbb {C}^2}$ with disconnected Julia sets

open access: yesProceedings of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 130, Issue 6, June 2025.
Abstract For a hyperbolic polynomial automorphism of C2$\mathbb {C}^2$ with a disconnected Julia set, and under a mild dissipativity condition, we give a topological description of the components of the Julia set. Namely, there are finitely many “quasi‐solenoids” that govern the asymptotic behavior of the orbits of all nontrivial components.

W0_sample = np.random.normal(0,1)?

open access: yesPhysics Letters B
In this note, we explore the distribution of vacuum expectation values of the superpotential W0 in explicit Type IIB flux compactifications. We show that the distribution can be approximated universally across geometries by a two-dimensional Gaussian ...

Asymptotic behavior of Moncrief Lines in constant curvature space‐times

open access: yesBulletin of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 57, Issue 5, Page 1347-1359, May 2025.
Abstract We study the asymptotic behavior of Moncrief lines on 2+1$2+1$ maximal globally hyperbolic spatially compact space‐time M$M$ of nonnegative constant curvature. We show that when the unique geodesic lamination associated with M$M$ is either maximal uniquely ergodic or simplicial, the Moncrief line converges, as time goes to zero, to a unique ...

D-Sitter Space: Causal Structure, Thermodynamics, and Entropy

open access: yes, 2003
We study the entropy of concrete de Sitter flux compactifications and deformations of them containing D-brane domain walls. We determine the relevant causal and thermodynamic properties of these "D-Sitter" deformations of de Sitter spacetimes.

Moduli Space of Torsional Manifolds [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
We characterize the geometric moduli of non-Kaehler manifolds with torsion. Heterotic supersymmetric flux compactifications require that the six-dimensional internal manifold be balanced, the gauge bundle be hermitian Yang-Mills, and also the anomaly ...

Topological data analysis for the string landscape

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2019
Persistent homology computes the multiscale topology of a data set by using a sequence of discrete complexes. In this paper, we propose that persistent homology may be a useful tool for studying the structure of the landscape of string vacua. As a scaled-
