Collapse and Fragmentation of Rotating Magnetized Clouds. I. Magnetic Flux - Spin Relation
We discuss evolution of the magnetic flux density and angular velocity in a molecular cloud core, on the basis of three-dimensional numerical simulations, in which a rotating magnetized cloud fragments and collapses to form a very dense optically thick ...

Random Magnetic Impurities and the Landau Problem [PDF]
The 2-dimensional density of states of an electron is studied for a Poissonian random distribution of point vortices carrying $\alpha$ flux in unit of the quantum of flux. It is shown that, for any given density of impurities, there is a transition, when

ABSTRACT Introduction Pre‐dilution online hemodiafiltration (Pre‐HDF) is predominantly used in Japan, whereas post‐dilution online HDF (Post‐HDF) is more common in Europe. An asymmetric cellulose triacetate (ATA) membrane may improve biocompatibility.

Robust Absolute Solar Flux Density Calibration for the Murchison Widefield Array
Sensitive radio instruments are optimized for observing faint astronomical sources, and usually need to attenuate the received signal when observing the Sun.

In this paper, a novel method for the magnetic flux density estimation in the vicinity of multi-circuit overhead transmission lines is proposed. The proposed method is based on a fully connected feed-forward artificial neural network model that is ...

Source-intrinsic near-infrared properties of Sgr A*: Total intensity measurements
We present a comprehensive data description for Ks-band measurements of Sgr A*. We characterize the statistical properties of the variability of Sgr A* in the near-infrared, which we find to be consistent with a single-state process forming a power-law ...

Absolute Calibration of the Radio Astronomy Flux Density Scale at 22 to 43 GHz Using Planck [PDF]
The Planck mission detected thousands of extragalactic radio sources at frequencies from 28 to 857 GHz. Planck's calibration is absolute (in the sense that it is based on the satellite's annual motion around the Sun and the temperature of the cosmic ...

Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Color-magnetic flux tubes in quark matter cores of neutron stars
We argue that if color-superconducting quark matter exists in the core of a neutron star, it may contain a high density of flux tubes, carrying flux that is mostly color-magnetic, with a small admixture of ordinary magnetic flux.

This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.
