Heterodimeric amino acid transporters consist of SLC7 and SLC3 family proteins arranged in a conserved structural organization. They regulate nutrient transport across cell membranes, supporting essential cellular functions. These transporters also contribute to xenobiotic/drug uptake and distribution.

Robust vehicle speed limiter [PDF]
Over speeding is still a generic practice on many roads and this contributes to a substantial number of crashes. Even though speed limits are set and penalties are imposed for disobeying these limits, and in some countries the implementation of some ...

Fast electrons produced by lower hybrid wave and effects on plasma–wall interactions
Lower hybrid wave (LHW) current drive plays a crucial role in sustaining steady-state (SS) discharges on the Experimental Advanced Superconducting Tokamak (EAST).

Metastatic niche shaped by host factors influences disseminated cancer cell fate
Metastasis is shaped not only by cancer cells but also by the environments they encounter. This review explores how factors such as aging, diet, the microbiome, lifestyle, and environmental exposures remodel organ‐specific niches in the lung, liver, bone, and brain, influencing where metastatic cells survive, remain dormant, or grow, and ultimately ...

Ion cyclotron range of frequencies (ICRF) antenna operation and plasma-wall interaction were investigated on the WEST tokamak in the regime where the density at the antenna limiters was sufficiently low for the slow wave (SW) to propagate in front of the

Membrane composition and thermodynamic identity as boundaries of life for synthetic cell research
What makes a cell a cell? The boundary of a living cell is not just a wall. Read as a Markov blanket, the membrane separates internal from external states, generating identity and non‐equilibrium order. Can this identity be rebuilt from scratch in a synthetic cell?

The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.

Admissibility preserving subcell limiter for Lax-Wendroff flux reconstruction
Lax-Wendroff Flux Reconstruction (LWFR) is a single-stage, high order, quadrature free method for solving hyperbolic conservation laws. We develop a subcell based limiter by blending LWFR with a lower order scheme, either first order finite volume or ...

Operational control and protection implications of fault current limitation in distribution networks [PDF]
Rising short-circuit fault current levels is one of the problems associated with the increased presence of distributed generation (DG) in electrical networks.
