Magnetic flux motion and flux pinning in superconductors

open access: yes, 2018
Magnetization measurements on the two high-temperature superconductors Nd[subscript]1.85Ce[subscript]0.15CuO[subscript]4-y and Ba[subscript]0.6K[subscript]0.4BiO[subscript]3 have been undertaken in order to study the reversible and irreversible magnetic behavior and compare these two different materials with other high-temperature superconductors (HTSC)

Flux Pinning in Superconductors[7]

open access: yesTEION KOGAKU (Journal of the Cryogenic Society of Japan), 2009
The flux pinning properties of RE-123 bulk superconductors, RE-123 coated conductors, Bi-2223 tapes and MgB2 superconductors are reviewed. In bulk superconductors, the pinning mechanism of the lower Tc region, such as the Ba sites substituted by RE elements or twin boundaries with oxygen deficiency, is considered to be kinetic energy interaction under ...

Field-Dependent Critical Current in Type-II Superconducting Strips: Combined Effect of Bulk Pinning and Geometrical Edge Barrier

open access: yes, 2002
Recent theoretical and experimental research on low-bulk-pinning superconducting strips has revealed striking dome-like magnetic-field distributions due to geometrical edge barriers.

Multi‐Functional ZnO–Te Heterojunction Devices Enabling Compact Frequency Quadrupler

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Wafer‐scale ZnO–Te heterojunction devices featuring tunable double negative differential transconductance (D‐NDT) are demonstrated at ≤ 200°C. Leveraging this unique characteristic, a single‐stage frequency quadrupler is realized, achieving a 64%–75% reduction in device count.

Edge Contamination, Bulk Disorder, Flux Front Roughening, and Multiscaling in Type II Superconducting Thin Films

open access: yesCondensed Matter, 2017
We have investigated the effect of different types of disorder on the propagation, roughness, and scaling properties of magnetic flux fronts in a type II superconductor.

Anisotropy and directional pinning in YBaCuO with BaZrO3 nanorods

open access: yes, 2013
Measurements of anisotropic transport properties (dc and high-frequency regime) of driven vortex matter in YBa$_2$Cu$_3$O$_{7-x}$ with elongated strong-pinning sites (c-axis aligned, self-assembled BaZrO$_3$ nanorods) are used to demonstrate that the ...

Kinetic Regimes of Hydrogen Absorption in Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Knowledge of the hydrogen incorporation mechanisms in thin layers in relation to the amount absorbed is essential to design coatings and devices compatible with hydrogen‐based technologies. A combination of simultaneous in situ methods gives detailed insight into the hydrogenation of a prototypical hydrogen absorber layer in a time‐dependent manner ...
