Flying-capacitor boost converter

2012 Twenty-Seventh Annual IEEE Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition (APEC), 2012
This paper introduces the flying-capacitor dc-dc boost converter. In the proposed topology, a high voltage gain ratio and improved conversion efficiency are achieved with low inductor core and copper losses. The input current ripple of the new converter is low while its ripple frequency is high, yielding a low-sized input filter.

A New Modulation Scheme for a Four-Level Single Flying Capacitor Converter

IEEE transactions on industrial electronics (1982. Print), 2021
This article proposes a four-level single flying capacitor converter (4L-SFCC) topology along with a new modulation technique. The proposed four-level single flying capacitor converter (4L-SFCC) topology has only one flying capacitor in each phase.

Second Harmonic Current Reduction for Flying Capacitor Clamped Boost Three-Level Converter in Photovoltaic Grid-Connected Inverter

IEEE transactions on power electronics, 2021
In a two-stage single-phase photovoltaic (PV) grid-connected inverter, the second harmonic current (SHC) in the PV panel will affect the maximum power point tracking operation and degrade the energy harvesting efficiency.

The ARCP flying capacitor inverter

2005 European Conference on Power Electronics and Applications, 2005
Reduction of switching losses is an important issue in development of high power multilevel converters. Improvement of the known soft switching techniques to find application in multilevel topologies is therefore a worth attempt started recently. This paper proposes a new auxiliary circuit for the flying capacitor multilevel converters realizing soft ...

New flying capacitor multilevel converter

2011 IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics, 2011
This paper proposes an improved version of conventional flying capacitor multilevel converter known as active flying capacitor converter. The proposed converter replaces the clamping capacitor of the three-level flying capacitor converter by number of series connected half or full bridge cells, and uses these active cells to generate multilevel voltage
