Flysch facies and turbidite sedimentology

Sedimentary Geology, 1970
Abstract The main facies of flysch in the Northern Apennines are listed, the importance of calcareous turbidites being noted. A summary is presented of Italian studies on selected sedimentologic features of the Apennines turbidites: 1. (1) Data on the occurrence of internal sedimentary structures in the turbidite rhythms, in function of thickness

Tektonischer, sedimentologischer oder biologischer Flysch?

Geologische Rundschau, 1967

Devonian-Carboniferous pre-flysch and flysch environments in the Circum Pannonian Region

2010
The following Devonian—Carboniferous paleogeographic and Variscan orogenic domains were recognized in the Circum Pannonian Region: Oceanic and arc related environments – Noric Bosnian/Carnic-Dinaric Zone (carbonate dominated passive continental margins) – Inovo Zone (Devonian siliciclastic dominated stable continental margins) – Quartzphyllite ...

Conglomeratic Miocene Flysch, Western Greece

SEPM Journal of Sedimentary Research, 1978
ABSTRACT A flysch succession more than 2 km thick is exposed between the Gulf of Patras and the Lake Trikhonis depression. A monocline repeats the stratigraphic sequence, such that sediments can be correlated for at least 10 km across the depositional strike. The flysch was deposited on two overlapping deep sea fans, each with a deltaic source.

Giant Paleodictyon in Eocene flysch

Palaeogeography, Palaeoclimatology, Palaeoecology, 2000
Abstract A giant Paleodictyon gomezi with a maximum mesh diameter of 13 cm and covering more than 0.5 m2 occurs in the lower Eocene flysch near Zumaya. The giant Paleodictyon occurs with flute casts and, therefore, must have been produced deeply in the sediment.

Flysch, molasse et formations apparentees

Sedimentary Geology, 1972
Abstract The term flysch has a definite meaning; it is applied to sedimentary groups having certain specific characteristics in common with each other. The causes of possible mistakes in the definition of flysch, resulting from a selection of particular but not specific characteristics, are presented.

Kaštela-Split Flysch Region

Vijesti Hrvatskoga geološkog društva, 2000
Middle Dalmatian flysch is located almost centrally in Adriatic belt, and it is attributed to the Middle Dalmatian Basin. Paleogene sediments of Split and Solin environs are mostly in tectonical contacts with Mezozoic basement, except on the west Mosor Mt. slope where we can still see partly preserved basin margin. Split flysch is informally subdivided
