An approach for characterising the weathering behaviour of Flysch slopes applied to the carbonatic Flysch of Alicante (Spain) [PDF]
Various studies indicate that most of the slope instabilities affecting Flysch heterogeneous rock masses are related to differential weathering of the lithologies that make up the slope. Therefore, the weathering characteristics of the intact rock are of great importance for the study of these types of slopes and their associated instability processes.

The lacustrine Gördes Supradetachment Basin was developed along the Simav detachment fault during postorogenic extension in the north of the Menderes Massif in western Anatolia. The basin‐fill succession is represented by alluvial fan, Gilbert‐type delta, shoal‐water delta, foreshore, shoreface, offshore‐transition and peat‐forming mire deposits.

Agglutinated foraminifera from neritic to bathyal facies in the Palaeogene of Spitsbergen and the Barents Sea [PDF]
Late Palaeocene to Early Eocene foraminiferal assemblages have been analysed from an exploratory well (7119/7-1) drilled in the Tromsø Basin (southwestern Barents Sea) and from two onshore sections, Basilikaelva and Kovalskifjella, exposed in the ...

Towards the optimal Pixel size of dem for automatic mapping of landslide areas [PDF]
Determining appropriate spatial resolution of digital elevation model (DEM) is a key step for effective landslide analysis based on remote sensing data. Several studies demonstrated that choosing the finest DEM resolution is not always the best solution.

ABSTRACT The Mediterranean is particularly sensitive to rapid climate changes (RCCs) during the Holocene. An increasing number of natural climate archives revealed that socio‐economic developments were influenced by such RCCs since the Palaeolithic. However, multi‐millennial and high‐resolution archives are still rare and often located in mountainous ...

Abstract Permafrost degradation under a warming climate has altered hydrological and biogeochemical processes across the Arctic. Although increasing fluxes of weathering‐derived ions (e.g., Ca2+, Mg2+, and SO42−) have been reported in Arctic rivers, the underlying mechanisms and hotspots within basins remain poorly understood due to limited analysis of

Mitigating light pollution impacts on arthropods based on light‐emitting diode properties
Abstract Light pollution from artificial light at night (ALAN) is a significant environmental problem with far‐reaching consequences for ecological systems. Recent innovations in light‐emitting diode (LED) technology may offer sustainable outdoor lighting solutions, but scientific evidence is lacking. We investigated the effects of various LED lighting

Nummulitins from flysch in surroundings of Ilirska Bistrica, southwest Slovenia
Described are nummulitins from four localities in surroundings of Ilirska Bistrica. They were found in flysch rocks of Lower Cuisian and Upper Cuisian age, and of Cuisian/Lutetian transition.

Sustainable Retaining Wall Solution as a Mitigation Strategy on Steep Slopes in Soft Rock Mass
Steep slopes in soft rock are characterized by their susceptibility to instability (rockfall, rockslide) due to weathering and erosion of the slope surface. This article deals with the problem of adapting to the increasing height of the scree slope.

Analysis of the Possible Reactivation of the Krbavčići Landslide in Northern Istria, Croatia
The Krbavčići landslide occurred in January 1979 near the town of Buzet, Croatia, after a long period of heavy rainfall. It is located in Northern Istria in the area built of flysch rock mass where numerous mass movements in the past and recent history ...
