Bi‐Level Coordination of Demand Response and Multiple Virtual Power Plants in a Distribution Network for Flexibility Assessment

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
This study presents a hierarchical coordination framework where multiple VPPs interact with the DSO to optimize energy trades and flexibility offers. Each VPP aggregates DERs and DR, performing internal optimization, day‐ahead bidding, and assessing flexibility to reduce excess renewable generation and pollution.

Stress Behavior Improvement Analysis of Automobile Flywheel Experimentally and Numerically

open access: yesInternational Journal of Automotive Science and Technology, 2018
Clutch components rotating at high speed remain under the influence of high centrifugal forces. Therefore at the high rotational speeds flywheel is subjected to extreme forces that may cause severe cracks and breakages.

Two‐Layer Optimal Control Strategy of Thermal Power Unit Coupled With Hybrid Energy Storage System in Frequency Regulation

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
An optimized two‐layer TPU‐HESS operation strategy enables adaptive power allocation, mitigates regulation delay, and enhances AGC performance by 6.4% over conventional control methods. ABSTRACT With the growing penetration of renewable energy, its intermittency and fluctuation have imposed increasingly stringent regulation requirements on thermal ...

Coupled Dynamic Modeling and Analysis of the Single Gimbal Control Moment Gyroscope Driven by Ultrasonic Motor

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
A control moment gyroscope (CMG) is a key actuator for spacecraft's attitude and stability control. But there exist micro-vibrations from high-speed flywheel, which will affect the performance of the spacecraft greatly. Due to the unbalanced mass and the

Product Positioning and Incentives to Innovate

open access: yesJournal of Economics &Management Strategy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This paper shows that product positioning affects the incentives to invest in process innovation. The result is found using a model of price competition with three firms under horizontal product differentiation—and then extended to a more general Bertrand triopoly.
