Research on control method for flywheel battery energy storage system
2016 IEEE 8th International Power Electronics and Motion Control Conference (IPEMC-ECCE Asia), 2016This paper presents a new control method for the flywheel battery energy storage (FBES) system. The proposed method adopts a double closed-loop control structure, which is based on an outer DC bus voltage loop cascaded with an inner current loop, and has an additional speed control loop.

On the flywheel/battery hybrid energy storage system for DC microgrid
2013 1st International Future Energy Electronics Conference (IFEEC), 2013This paper presents a hybrid energy storage system (ESS) consisting of flywheel and battery for wind generator based DC microgrid. In the studied DC microgrid, a wind permanent-magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) is connected to its DC bus via a three-phase Vienna switch-mode rectifier (SMR).
