8mm Band FM Fixed-distance Radar

2005 IEEE International Symposium on Microwave, Antenna, Propagation and EMC Technologies for Wireless Communications, 2006
An 8 mm band FM fixed-distance radar, used in applications like ignition fuse, was developed lately. It employed autodyne receiver, whose front module was composed of 8 mm band VCO, horn, circulator and mixer. Triangular wave was employed as modulating signal and band pass filter was used to count the anticipant distance from the output signal. Ranging

Low cost FM-CW radar range finder

IEE Colloquium on Automotive Radar and Navigation Techniques, 1998
This work is concerned with the use of a 27 GHz triangular FM-CW single antenna radar gun with analogue signal pre-processing together with a Matlab off-line method to extract range information from a static target. The authors conclude that FM-CW radar has the potential of being commercially used as a navigation tool for automotive and autonomous ...

Ranging for stepped‐FM coded radar

Electronics and Communications in Japan (Part III: Fundamental Electronic Science), 1999
This paper focuses on radar that is used in automotive applications. It describes a stepped-FM coded radar that is free from radar mutual interference, has high resolution, and is referred to as FM-CW radar.

Digital tracking filter for FM-CW radar

2013 International Mutli-Conference on Automation, Computing, Communication, Control and Compressed Sensing (iMac4s), 2013
The paper discusses a method for improving the SNR and hence sensitivity of Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FM-CW) radar. In FM-CW radar, a beat signal is generated internally, with its frequency proportional to the altitude. Beat frequency measurement results in error if the input has low Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR).

Efficient Direct Signal Cancellation for FM-based Passive Radar

International Radar Conference, 2020
The performance of an FM-based passive radar sensor is highly dependant on the level of suppression of direct signal interference. In this paper, we compare the performance of a selection of suppression algorithms in terms of detection performance and ...

A 90 GHz FM-CW-RADAR Transmitter

MTT-S International Microwave Symposium Digest, 2005
The design and the performance of an FM-CW-RADAR transmitter for 90 GHz set up synchronized and powercombined IMPATT-oscillators are presented in this paper. The synchronising source consists of a 45 GHz-Gunn-oscillator which is simultaneously swept and doubled by the same varactor.

Evaluating the Performance of FM-Based PCL Radar in the Presence of Jamming

IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 2019
In this paper, we examine an FM-based passive coherent location (PCL) radar system and attempt to quantify its performance in the presence of various different jamming waveforms namely broadband noise and a single tone on the carrier.

FM-based multi-frequency passive radar system

2016 IEEE International Conference on Signal Processing, Communications and Computing (ICSPCC), 2016
Due to the obvious advantages in terms of aerial surveillance and anti-jamming, passive radar system (PRS) has been widely studied over the last years. However, a considerable part of the research on the PRS has been carried out in the laboratory environment and few practical results have been disclosed.

Nonlinear Radar via Intermodulation of Jointly Optimized FM Noise Waveform Pairs

International Radar Conference, 2019
It was recently shown that a new form of nonlinear radar can be achieved using pairs of separately optimized FM noise waveforms, where the optimization serves to provide useful spectral shaping of each waveform.
