A Radar Multipath Signal Parameter Estimation Method in Closed Environments Using Sparsity With Real‐Imaginary Component Characteristics

open access: yesElectronics Letters, Volume 61, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
This method leverages the spatial sparsity of multipath signals and takes into account the real and imaginary components of the radar echo after the inner product with the overcomplete dictionary. It addresses the issues of inaccurate multipath signal parameter estimation, high algorithm complexity, and weak convergence in the multipath signal ...

A New Multistatic FMCW Radar Architecture by Over-the-Air Deramping [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
© 2015 IEEE. Frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW) radar is widely adopted solution for low-cost, short to medium range sensing applications. However, a multistatic FMCW architecture suitable for meeting the low-cost requirement has yet to be ...

Phase Noise in FMCW Radar Systems [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 2019
Phase noise is one of the fundamental performance parameters in modern radar, communication, spectroscopic, and metrological systems. In this paper, a phase noise theory has been developed for FMCW radar systems. A new design equation has been derived to specify the maximum bound on the allowable source phase noise level in radar systems. The nonlinear

Efficient Markerless Radar Motion Recognition Using the 3D Coordinate Extracted by the Human Pose Estimation Software

open access: yesElectronics Letters, Volume 61, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
The proposed approach employs a freely available pose‐estimation tool (BlazePose) to extract 3D coordinates of a body engaged in micro‐motions. These coordinates are used to generate basis signals, which are then combined with radar measurements to derive amplitude‐based features that achieve classification accuracy close to 100%.

An Adversarial Super-Resolution Remedy for Radar Design Trade-offs

open access: yes, 2019
Radar is of vital importance in many fields, such as autonomous driving, safety and surveillance applications. However, it suffers from stringent constraints on its design parametrization leading to multiple trade-offs. For example, the bandwidth in FMCW

DDMA Signal Separation Method Based on Frame‐Interleaved Binary Mask

open access: yesElectronics Letters, Volume 61, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
To solve the problem of multi‐target separation failure at the same distance in empty‐band Doppler division multiple access system, we propose the frame‐interleaved binary mask method. This method can effectively separate multiple targets in above scenario. ABSTRACT Millimetre‐wave multiple‐input multiple‐output (MIMO) radar has many advantages such as
