Polarimetric FMCW weather radar
2015 23nd Signal Processing and Communications Applications Conference (SIU), 2015This study which was conducted as a Master's thesis, is a radar system working at X band. In this system, a 2 Watt continuous electromagnetic wave which is modulated with frequency ramp of 30 MHz bandwidth is generated and radiated through TX antenna. The scattered signal from the hydrometeors is multiplied with the transmitted one and beat signal is ...

Orthogonal waveforms for FMCW MIMO radar
2011 IEEE RadarCon (RADAR), 2011Multiple input/multiple output (MIMO) radar system performance benefits from the capability to simultaneously transmit and receive multiple orthogonal waveforms. For pulse radars fitting orthogonal waveforms have been developed. These waveforms are however not necessarily suitable for frequency-modulated continuous-wave (FMCW) radar.

Vital information extraction using FMCW radar
2021 International Conference on Information Networking (ICOIN), 2021Frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW) radar, which can obtain the range and displacement of the target, is used for the non-contact vital monitoring. To extract vital information using the FMCW radar, it is necessary to select the range bin. This paper proposes a novel method of selecting the range bin for the extraction of vital information.

Implementation of FMCW radar for training applications
2017 4th International Conference on Electrical and Electronic Engineering (ICEEE), 2017In this study, a frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW) radar has been implemented. The FMCW is obtained by modulating CW signal. The triangular wave signal has been selected as modulation signal and a modulator circuit has been performed. The FMCW radar system provides the target velocity and range information in sufficient resolution within a 100-

Frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW) radar, optionally with Doppler capability, is applied in atmospheric remote sensing since decades. The method is well understood and documented in its original theoretical analogue representation, as are its inherent restrictions. But since the introduction of the method the digitization has reached many areas

Performance of an FMCW radar sensor
IEEE Transactions on Communications, 1992An FMCW (frequency modulated continuous wave) sensor that uses triangular modulation is considered. The sampled output from two range gates are processed so that the device will initiate some function when it passes through a desired range. An expression is obtained for the detection probability from which the expected value and standard deviation of ...

Interference Characterization in FMCW radars
2020 IEEE Radar Conference (RadarConf20), 2020As the penetration levels of Automotive radars increase so will the problem of mutual interference. It is important to understand how this will affect the performance of current radar technology. The aim of this paper is the statistical characterization of interference in the context of fast chirp FMCW radar. We focus on two categories of interference:

A 94GHz FMCW instrumentation radar
2007 Joint 32nd International Conference on Infrared and Millimeter Waves and the 15th International Conference on Terahertz Electronics, 2007We report on the use of a versatile 94GHz FMCW instrumentation radar to assess optimum hardware configurations for a variety of co-polar and cross-polar target classification studies. Phase noise and sweep linearity are critical parameters in FMCW radars and optimising them is a key objective of any high performance radar system.

Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) radars have been used by snow scientists for the past 30 years. This radar technology provides a promising alternative to point measurements, as properties such as snow depth can be measured quickly and non-destructively. Recent advances in microwave FMCW radar technology have resulted in lightweight, portable

Design of a Multifrequency FMCW Radar
28th European Microwave Conference, 1998, 1998This paper pertains to the design aspects of a multifrequency FMCW radar with emphasis on the engineerig problems involved in its implementation. This radar generates 8 separate FMCW signals which are then additively mixed and radiated. The target return also comprises returns at these frequencies. The signals are then split into their constituents and
