Pandora multifrequency FMCW/SFCW radar

Record of the IEEE 2000 International Radar Conference [Cat. No. 00CH37037], 2002
This paper pertains to the design aspects of a multifrequency FMCW/SFCW radar with emphasis on the engineering problems involved in its implementation. The paper mostly discusses the FMCW mode of operation. This system can also be used for generating SFCW signals. The implications in this mode are also examined. In the FMCW mode, this radar generates 8

High resolution polarimetric FMCW radar

Proceedings of IGARSS '93 - IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2002
The Monash FMCW radar has been successful in detecting and locating defects in natural and man-made dielectrics (eg. defects in sawmill wood), with a range resolution, of 2 cm in wood. The authors show how to improve this resolution and provide polarimetric capability, which is important in anisotropic and optically active materials.

Linear FMCW radar techniques

IEE Proceedings F Radar and Signal Processing, 1992
Frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW) radar uses a very low probability of intercept waveform, which is also well suited to make good use of simple solid-state transmitters. FMCW is finding applications in such diverse fields as naval tactical navigation radars, smart ammunition sensors and automotive radars.

94 GHz FMCW cloud radar

SPIE Proceedings, 2008
A compact, solid state, zenith looking 94 GHz meteorological radar is described. Samples of the reflectivity data obtained from representative samples of hydrometeors, including cirrus cloud and fog, are presented. This bistatic FMCW radar delivers continuous information on the distribution and thickness of cloud layers, permitting accurate ...

A 94GHz FMCW instrumentation radar

2007 Joint 32nd International Conference on Infrared and Millimeter Waves and the 15th International Conference on Terahertz Electronics, 2007
We report on the use of a versatile 94GHz FMCW instrumentation radar to assess optimum hardware configurations for a variety of co-polar and cross-polar target classification studies. Phase noise and sweep linearity are critical parameters in FMCW radars and optimising them is a key objective of any high performance radar system.

Autodyne millimeter-wave FMCW radar

2008 18th International Crimean Conference - Microwave & Telecommunication Technology, 2008
The results of investigations of 8-mm band FMCW autodyne radar are given in this work. The radar intended for speed and range measurement of objects. Self-detection autodyne transmitter is made on base of Gann diode with varactor tuning. Digital methods of radiating signal forming and spectral signal processing and digital filtering of difference ...

Implementation of FMCW radar for training applications

2017 4th International Conference on Electrical and Electronic Engineering (ICEEE), 2017
In this study, a frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW) radar has been implemented. The FMCW is obtained by modulating CW signal. The triangular wave signal has been selected as modulation signal and a modulator circuit has been performed. The FMCW radar system provides the target velocity and range information in sufficient resolution within a 100-

The Colarado Multistatic FMCW Radar System

1998 28th European Microwave Conference, 1998
A multstatic frequency-modulated continuous wave (FMCW) radar system is under development for use in the control system of autonomous vehicles. The aim of the system, named Colarado, is the 3D location of obstacles in the surrounding environment. In this paper a laboratory prototype system version, the demonstrator, is described and current results are

Vector parameter estimation in FMCW radar

2016 IEEE MTT-S International Conference on Microwaves for Intelligent Mobility (ICMIM), 2016
Today's automotive radars are based on FMCW signaling. The estimation of range, speed, and direction of arrival (DoA) for FMCW radars can be mapped to frequency estimation problems. Current methods rely on independent scalar frequency estimation techniques in each of the range, Doppler and DoA dimensions.

FMCW Waveform-Based Vehicular Radar

2018
Millimeter wave frequency modulation continuous wave (FMCW) waveform is very popular for its range and velocity detection for vehicular applications. However, it has false target detection problem in multiple target scenarios. This paper presents a double FMCW waveform for target detection in multi-target situations.
