3D Bioinspired Hair‐Based Solar Evaporator for Efficient Water Harvesting

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A bio‐derived solar evaporator inspired by blackbody radiation is developed using human hair waste. The vertically aligned hair structure enables broadband light absorption, efficient thermal localization, and rapid water transport, achieving high evaporation rates and stable desalination performance.

3D Printed Multifunctional, Hyperelastic Silicone Rubber Foam

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, 2019
Highly elastic silicone foams, especially those with tunable properties and multifunctionality, are of great interest in numerous fields. However, the liquid nature of silicone precursors and the complicated foaming process hinder the realization of its ...

Tunable Coordination Number in Non‐Metal‐Introduced Copper Catalysts Enables High‐Performance Electrochemical CO2 Reduction to C2 Products

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Copper catalysts introduced with different non‐metallic elements regulating the coordination number of Cu are prepared by magnetron sputtering. Reducing the Cu coordination number enhances C─C coupling and boosts C2+ product selectivity, by lowering the energy barrier for the *CO → *CHO conversion step. The optimized Si‐doped Cu catalyst achieves a C2+

Ketoconazole Foam ??? Connetics

open access: yesDrugs in R & D, 2003
Connetics Corporation (USA) is developing a foam formulation of 2% ketoconazole [Extina] for the treatment of mycoses and dermatological indications, particularly seborrhoeic dermatitis. The product utilises Connetics' proprietary foam drug delivery technology, VersaFoam, and is currently awaiting registration in the US for the treatment of seborrhoeic

Probing the Planck Scale with Neutrino Oscillations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
Quantum gravity "foam", among its various generic Lorentz non-invariant effects, would cause neutrino mixing. It is shown here that, if the foam is manifested as a nonrenormalizable effect at scale M, the oscillation length generically decreases with ...

Harnessing Non‐Covalent Protein–Protein Interaction Domains for Production of Biocatalytic Materials Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Non‐covalent protein–protein interactions mediated by SH3, PDZ, or GBD domains enable the self‐assembly of stable and biocatalytically active hydrogel materials. These soft materials can be processed into monodisperse foams that, once dried, exhibit enhanced mechanical stability and activity and are easily integrated into microstructured flow ...
